I’m relatively new to this site and appreciate everything the community provides. One curious item I have is that when I view my songs.dta file in the C3CONS Tools, some of my songs have more than one entry listed.
For example, I recently downloaded Coheed and Cambria – Mother Superior and when I ran it through the PS3 Converter, and I checked my dta file, there are two entries:First Entry:
Coheed and Cambria – Mother Superior (Rhythm Version) (1792200021) [#150]
Second Entry:
Coheed and Cambria – Mother Superior (Rhythm Version) (1792200021) [#967]
I only ran the CON file through the converter one time. I’m not sure why it produced two entries.
Issue #2 is that when I load up Rock Band 3 and get to my song library, I see that it is now showing (not exact number here) 1100 out 1190 songs. I’ve looked into this before creating this thread and made sure of the following:
1. I am not using nor have I ever used another account or profile to download Rock Band dlc.
2. I’m using the same PS3 and hard drive I’ve used since Rock Band 3 has come out. I have not reformatted or restored from backup.
3. I am not using any search filters including the filter to exclude 1 lighter rated songs.
4. I have not deleted any dlc or modified any of my Rock Band save files or data files other than using the method to load customs detailed on this site.I cannot determine which songs are missing. I was just curious if anyone else has had this issue since starting to use customs and if there was a way to figure out which songs Rock Band 3 is not showing. Any constructive and legit advice is appreciated. My apologies if this has already be asked but I searched the forums and google for this issue and have not seen any other entries for duplicate items in the song.dta file. I have seen threads and issues for missing songs but the fix was always related to filtering or someone forgot they purchased DLC using another profile on their PS3, and unfortunately this is not the case for me.
June 4, 2018 at 7:34 pm #498483Not sure if this is related, but as a Wii user, when I use the C3 CON Tools Wii Converter Smart Folder Merger (what a mouthful!), I will get duplicate entries for a single song if I drag both the meta and the song folder into the converter box at the same time. So I’ve learned to just drag one folder from each set of two into the merger window. Does the PS3 Converter have a similar setup?
June 4, 2018 at 7:58 pm #498484Maybe? I have my CON files in the Documents folder, and then the C3Tools folders along with the Merged Folder resides on my Desktop. I’m not sure where the breakdown is as I follow the same process to convert:
1. I drag the CON file, which is in my Documents folder, into the PS3 Converter.
2. It outputs the files into the Merged Songs directory in my C3Tools folder.
I follow this process whether I have one CON file or several different songs CON files. I have individual entries in my song.dta file, such as “Default – Wasting My Time” and “Incubus – A Crow Left of the Murder.” Doesn’t cause an issue in game so I haven’t really worried about it but I’m also put off that in my song library it says showing 1100 of 1190. As mentioned in the initial post, this isn’t the exact number but my library shows a lot less than the total songs and I’m wondering if this is the reason why.
