I think it will be hard to check without the mp3 file. At first glance, even without the file, I can tell you did exactly what I did when I first started charting vocals and that was having your vocal notes way too long. They should really mimic the length of the vocal sound of the singer. For example, if the singer sings a word like “the” and doesn’t stretch it out, it’s typically only three grid squares on a 1/64th grid. What you’ll see is that your vocal notes will become way shorter and MUCH easier to score an awesome rating with each phrase. I’m going to guess it’s a struggle now, and that’s because your note tubes are so long you couldn’t possibly have enough breath in the song to complete the phrase. Shorter note tubes that match the singers sung word length gives a singer time to breath, and thus a much easier time to complete the phrase accurately.

So you should crank up your PART VOCAL volume, turn down your song audio volume and really listen to each note and measure it to what you have charted. You’ll find your note tubes getting a whole lot smaller. Again, this is all based on an assumption as I have no idea what your song sounds like.

Anyway, I am by no means a Sherpa here (I’m relatively new), I just am passing along what I was so thankfully taught in hopes it might help you too.

I can’t say for sure without knowing the song, but generally speaking, when it comes to short, fast syllables that start with a consonant sound (such as “the”), the note should be short, but you can chart the initial consonant sound. Otherwise, the note is usually TOO short, which can make it difficult to hit.
