Error:
MIDI Compiler: Starting…
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (PART VOCALS): Confused by vocal phrase overlap around [51:2:030]
This means you probably have a very short vocal phrase marker somewhere, zoom in on your project and check all your vocal phrase markers.

Zoomed in to microscopic proportions and found zip.
Decided to start from scratch
Deleted the phrase, note, and lyric text event to make sure there isn’t anything hidden.
Changed view from named notes to event list to make sure there is STILL nothing there.
Put it through Magma with everything deleted to make sure there is nothing there. Confirmed!
No errors when it’s all removed.
Manually redo the phrase, note, and lyric again, and still get the same errors. It’s like Magma doesn’t want anything to be there, or Reaper is just autistic and refuses to place things correctly in this Bermuda Rectangle section of the track.
Should I just not have these lyrics in the song? Any ideas?

Open a new project tab and open the default template. Cut or Copy the harm1 track. Switch back to your other tab and paste it in. Now open both harm1 tracks (ctrl alt E) and copy paste just the notes from one to the other. Then import the lyrics again, recreate NEW phrase markers in the new harm1 track. Finally delete the original harm1 track.
I call that the ‘nuclear option’ and it usually works on these obscure magma errors.
Best of luck
Keeping the content Canadian since 2017!

– Incorrect lyrics hyphenation (you have an hyphenated word starting at the end of the phrase or ending at the beginning of the phrase)
– A note begins before the phrase or ends after
Post the RPP if those are not the case.

Yikes. I broke a sweat just reading all of that. Too much work. I just deleted the phrases, ran it through Magma, then use the ConTools Upgrader to put in the mid files with the phrases in them.
I call that the “Magma bypass” trick. Use under extreme caution so your xbox doesn’t explode with your RB disk in it when playing the song.
