I think it would be pretty fun to have a Green Day rock band sequel.

There were a LOT of songs from albums like Kerplunk, Nimrod, and Warning not included in the final game. And also with Revolution Radio out, there would be so much more.

That doesn’t even include all the songs from Uno, Dos, and Tre.

    Any thoughts on this?

Unfortunately, this is most likely to never happen:

-All of the hits are in the first game, this would make the second game feel like a B-side

-Harmonix said they would focus on RB4. You would have a chance of more Green Day,but only as DLC

-If there was to be a new band-centric game, they would rather do a new one than a sequel

I’ve played GD:RB through and through, which also got me into listening to more of their other albums. After a while, I’ve realized that while the game was good, it came of like the Van Halen Guitar Hero game: heavy focus on certain eras and ignoring other stuff. Three full albums and two songs from 3 others, while completely ignoring their first two albums (though I never listened to them myself), is a bit of a cop-out.

To me, much of Green Day’s stuff is repetitive, including Dookie, but there are great (compositionally) number tunes they should have included from the other 3 albums:

    86

    Panic Song

    Stuart And The Ave.

    Westbound Sign

    Walking Contradiction

    J.A.R.

    Redundant

    Platypus

    Last Ride In

    Jinx/Haushinka

    King For A Day

    Castaway

    Misery

    Jackass

    Waiting

    Macy’s Day Parade

They could I guess, but nobody minus a small few would buy it. As stated above, most of the hits are on the first one and it wouldn’t be feasible to make an entire game for the more hardcore Green Day fans.

Honestly I’d be pretty miffed if they came out with a Green Day Rock Band 2. Out of all the artists with an impressive discography containing plenty of hits and is widely accepted as great music (Ignoring the tracks already in Rock Band) I can think of a few like AC/DC, Rush, Van Halen, U2, Black Sabbath, Queen, Beach Boys, Tom Petty, hell even a Linkin Park Rock Band would make more sense.

I suppose we’re all still hoping for a Led Zeppelin Rock Band in there somewhere too. That’d be neat.

Just realized another downside, they don’t even like Uno, Dos, and Tre themselves. Darn.

But what if we get Guitar Hero Live: Led Zeppelin???

If enough of my older charts get fixed up and I finish parts of my old discography project, we could have that, just it would be within RB3,

Anyone who thinks that Harmonix is going to release a single artist only game at this point is out of their mind. Have no fear because anybody can just chart any song from any band to their heart desires for RB3. If a single artist game comes out in the next few years, feel free to resurrect this thread and flame me to the ground.

why do we need another GDRB game? at this point, it’s only wanting some more boring songs in my opinion

They aren’t as boring as you would think. Just about every drum and guitar chart of theirs is difficult. Some people don’t have money to buy the songs even if they are the bands greatest fan.

Plus the songs Harmonix released didn’t really spread the discography, like pete said:

Ex. No songs from 5 albums, 1,039, Kerplunk, Shenanigans/Singles, Dos, and Tre. 1 song from 2 albums Uno (Oh Love RB3) and Revolution Radio’s Still Breathing on RB4.

Who Green Day or Harmonix? Still, I have been doing FB songs in my spare time. I will be releasing the songs in packs most likely so I don’t have to wait for my list to be completed before I offer them.

Packs probably going to get done this summer:

    Singles:

Songs from International Superhits! and Shenanigans. (May add other singles)

    Sweet Children:

Songs from the first two albums (see my list)]

    Insomniacs:

Songs from Insomniac and F.O.D/All By Myself

    Nimrod.:

    Songs from Nimrod

    Caution: Police Line:

    Songs from warning

    Cuatro!:

Half of the UDT songs on my list

    Cinco!:

The rest of the songs on my list

    #REV RAD:

I might do the full album, we will see

I think Green Day’s music works well in Rock Band. But, personally I would rather just have their best (i.e. my favourite) 10 songs than dozens and dozens of them that I just scroll past every time I get to the letter G.

I’ve never understood why people want to have “every” song by a certain band. I would rather explore different bands in the same genre, bands that aren’t well represented in the game. But that’s just me, I’m not trying to discourage anyone.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions; in mine.. this game had alot of repetitive songs and I couldn’t even play them all.

I don’t “hate” Green Day… but playing repetitive songs over and over is redondant.
