EQ settings to help chart bass notes easier?

I’m working on my second custom and now just discovered the EQ plugin in Reaper for the song audio. I’ve been playing around with it but does anyone have a recommended setting they use to help pick out bass notes of the song easier? It would be helpful to find a good starting point. Depending on the song this is one of the more difficult parts to accurately chart in songs.
What I’ve done is Center Canceler with the slider all the way to the left and the EQ with boosts to the lower frequencies. If that doesn’t help enough, it’s just going to be a difficult chart.
