Hello there. I didn’t see a newbie thread or sub-board, so I hope a quick topic in this area is alright.
I just wanted to take a quick moment to thank this community for everything they’ve done. I’ve been playing music rhythm games – mostly of the plastic-guitar caliber – for the last 10 years or so, starting with Guitar Hero 2, and they’ve been a passion of mine. I’ve made many friends through Rock Band and all its installments, and was actively purchasing DLC and jamming online up until they pulled the plug on RBN and the DLC.
With the release of RB4 and trickled DLC, I was sort of intrigued but not quite enough to jump back into the fray. A few days ago I was meandering aimlessly on Youtube and somehow got onto related videos pertaining to modded charts for Guitar Hero, and then Rock Band. I knew that many people created custom charters for personal use… what I did not know was how easy it’d be to do on a 360, and how much of a wealth of good music is actually made available. It’s dizzying and such a beautiful thing.
I’ve switched to the PS4 camp a few years ago, but this community and all their work has caused me to literally dust off my guitar and get excited about this game again. I used to be quite into leaderboard chasing and squeezing, in RB2 and RB3, so I’ve got a lot of warming up to do before attempting the crazier stuff… but I’m elated, and very eager to get some friends together. The band is officially back at it.
I’m very passionate about music and I intend to both help out with any kind of feedback I can here on the forums, and also pitch some fresh content to anyone chart-savvy developers who would be up for inspiration.
There were many days that I wondered if I’d ever care about plastic instruments again, in the last few years, but that flame has been rekindled; I hope that anyone out there who’s put in a lot of work and labor into their charting can understand how big of a deal this is, for me. I’m sure I’m not the only one it’s reached with such an impact, either.
Cheers.
Also, please, can someone either update the files for Between the Buried and Me’s White Walls and Tool’s Aenima, or send me their files via PM? Both are dead and I’d love to get in on them.
Thank you.
Happy jamming, everyone.

This place is great. The community at large is cool and the authors are very generous in sharing their work. Be aware and adhere to the forum rules, remember that gratitude is the only form of currency the authors receive and that it keeps them doing what they enjoy doing for not only themselves, but for everyone here…. so if you are a fan, don’t hold back on letting them know! It’s what keeps our love of the game alive!

Beg your pardon? Where should I be looking? It’s not under Legacy and there are two Mediafire links for it under Customs, but both are down. Are you suggesting I do a forum search for them or did I miss something?

August 6, 2016 at 5:08 am #472989Don’t search the legacy database but rather hit the customs tab on the top of the page and search Tool. You will be astonished how many Tool customs exist.

I think Derek is referring to beard216’s version of Aenema which is in the database, but the actual files were deleted/removed.
Also the link to “White Walls” works fine for me.

Bingo, thank you. I’ve grabbed about 300 tracks so far from the Customs tab up top, but just like you said, Aenima is a no-go.
I did try White Walls and got that, though. I swear neither ones were loading last night, but I’m glad they’re up now. Thanks.

Spoiler alert: it’s not. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”> Welcome!

Poor phrasing on my end, haha. If it was cakewalk to actually chart custom material, I’d like to think that I would’ve dipped my toes into the process by now, myself. More accurately, I should’ve said that I didn’t realize how easy it would be to get said content onto a 360 to play, sans modding.

Ah, perfect. Grabbing it now. Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction.
August 6, 2016 at 3:53 pm #473008If Sideshow would like to slap reductions on his upload of Aenema, I can. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> Then, I can get rid of mine.
August 7, 2016 at 10:00 am #473041Apologies for the random bump, but I figured it was better than creating an entire thread for one question –
Do any of you know if your scores / stars / progress are lost on a song if you swap it off the USB for an updated version? I don’t know how the game’s save file interacts with the cons on the USB, or if updated files can share an ID. The thought crossed my mind when grabbing the newest Aenima link.
August 7, 2016 at 10:35 am #473044The newer version of Aenima should have the same ID as the previous one released by me. Assuming you had V3 of Aenima released by me then your scores should stay intact. Now if you had Beard216’s version which used a different unique ID then your scores will be wiped when updating with my version.

Thanks for the response / explanation. Is that typically how it works across the board? – so long as the authors are updating the same ID, everything stays intact? That’d be a wonderful thing.
(I personally didn’t have any Aenima scores on the line; it just sparked the question.)
