I have the tools necessary to capture gameplay, but I’m curious as to how you guys do it. I don’t have a USB hub or anything, so at most I can plug three(?) USB devices into my 360.
1) Drums
2) USB stick with songs
3) Controller necessary for microphone
And suddenly I’m out of room to actually plug in the microphone. Can I just move the songs over to my Xbox from the USB, and play them from there?
May 20, 2016 at 8:07 am #468976You can, but depending on how often you switch between offline and online, it’s not ideal. See if you can find a cheap USB hub, plug your controller and microphone into that. Although strictly speaking, you shouldn’t need even the microphone to get the charts up, although a bit “controller disconnected” will obscure some of the chart.
May 20, 2016 at 8:26 am #468977Which model of the 360 do you have? The 360 S has six ports.
Edit: Whoops, make that five USB ports.

Umm the big white one with two USB ports on the front and possibly one on the back — I dunno, I haven’t seen the back of my 360 since Avatar: The Last Airbender was still airing.
May 20, 2016 at 8:39 am #468981Oh yeah, that’s only got one rear USB port.
That one didn’t even have an HDMI port, depending on whether you have the first or second version of that model. You have my sympathies.

May 20, 2016 at 9:49 am #468985You can get a USB hub for as low as 5 dollars, it’s not a bank breaking investment. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
May 21, 2016 at 1:40 am #469043Just enable All Instrument Mode in RB3 and you don’t need to worry about having a singer taking up a controller port. The only thing that sucks about AIM is if you have put alot of time into creating a custom venue and want to show it off, I don’t believe you can show off the custom venue in AIM. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Oh neat! I still have to have a mic plugged in, though, right?

No need for a microphone. All Instrument Mode will still show the vocal chart but there is no scoring done for vocals. It’s a great mode to use if a full band song that you have also has a keys part. Now all 5 instruments can be show on the screen at once.
May 21, 2016 at 2:14 am #469047If only someone had created a proper way of doing this on the PC. I tried my best with cPlayer but gave up way before I could get to anything close to resembling the game.

So you convert it to a Wii version, then put it through a Wii emulator? That sounds pretty sweet

Yeah, I do a performance mode recording on 360 for the background while cropping the track from the Wii recording and it doesn’t look too bad in my opinion
