I bought an RB2 Drumset, and it has a problem where sometimes when I hit the yellow pad, it does a “double-hit”. So what happens is I hit the pad, it shows that I hit it ingame, but then I lose my score multiplier.

I still had my old RB1 Drumset, so I didn’t really want to use my new one since my score always ended up being pretty bad, with my multiplier resetting all the time. So I figured I had nothing to lose, and I watched a video on how to take the pad off. Well I couldn’t figure out how to fix the problem myself, and now the pad won’t stay back on, so I’m wondering if anyone has any advice for me.

Here’s what my drums look like right now:

If anyone could tell me how to fix the double hitting or how to get the pad back on, I would really appreciate it.

That’s odd the pad is double-hitting. Usually that only happens with the RB2 cymbal expansion.

When you took it off, did you just pull it off? Or did you unscrew anything?

Your rubber hooks are misplaced. Take those off and put them back in their chambers.

I had this problem a long time ago with the RB drum set (came with TBRB, but was different than my friends actual Beatles version that came with theirs, but it was most similar to RB1 or 2 I think.). Anyway, this happened with red, though. Never could fix it completely.

It partially worked (briefly) by putting tape on the metal trigger wire in/near the middle. This made it a lot less sensitive though.

I just pulled it off, there weren’t any screws holding the pad down.

Thanks for the detailed response. I didn’t think the rubber hooks could be removed. I’ll give that a try, thanks.

On my old set there was a spring in the middle hole on the piece that you didnt pull off. I put new tape over the sensor, put a penny over th tape, then kinda pulled on the spring to make it stiffer, then reassembled. I believe I aw it on youtube. But it is something that you hit over and over. If it is an option I strongly recommend that you upgrade to an ion drum rocker. (More durable, and easier to fix pesky problems) cheers.
