    Hi folks,

We’re now officially in maintenance mode. Though I will be releasing new upgrades provided to me, I will not personally be authoring any new tracks (e.g. RBN tracks) — or, honestly, playtesting those submissions beyond a cursory Reaper review — for the foreseeable future. I’m just not playing much RB3 anymore and have been doing most of my review/testing with RB4, though I do plan to boot RB3 up to record any outstanding videos once review is complete.

Note that the move to GitHub has required/necessitated I rename the Optional Upgrades folder, removing the dashes. If you have an existing “– Optional Upgrades” folder, rename or delete it to match to avoid conflicts.

This release does feature two new keys charts, which I will shamefully admit I have not tested:

Rock Band DLC 2008 Keys Upgrades

    * Boston – “Smokin'” (Linos Melendi)

Rock Band DLC 2009 Keys Upgrades

    * Evanescence – “Bring Me to Life” (Linos Melendi)

Beyond that, this patch features a bevy of fixes, which I will detail below, and some tweaks to a subset of the upgrades.dta files’ metadata to ensure proper author attribution and versioning (version 1 being, perhaps incorrectly, the version released on the ‘final’ release).

Fixes, not sorted by year because I am too lazy to look that up.

    * 30 Seconds to Mars – “The Kill” (Adjusted hidden lyrics to avoid overlap in one section.)

    * Alice In Chains – “Heaven Beside You” (Adjusted one note tube’s timing.)

    * Alice In Chains – “No Excuses” (Removed extra + lyrics.)

    * All-American Rejects – “Dirty Little Secret” (Added missing + lyric, adjusted one tube’s length.)

    * Angels & Airwaves – “It Hurts” (Fixed H1 phrase markers.)

    * Avenged Sevenfold – “Nightmare” (Tweaked a couple of lyrics and fixed PMs.)

    * Boston – “Peace of Mind” (Removed erroneous extra lyric event.)

    * Boston – “Something About You” (Fixed several note tubes touching, removed extra + lyric.)

    * Breaking Benjamin – “Diary of Jane” (Fixed hidden/visible lyric issue.)

    * Buckcherry – “Rescue Me” (Adjusted timing.)

    * The Cars – “All Mixed Up” (Added missing + lyric, fixed misaligned lyric elsewhere.)

    * Children of Bodom – “Are You Dead Yet?” (One phrase was 1/128th late – moved it.)

    * The Cranberries – “Linger” (Switched hidden/visible lyrics around.)

    * The Cult – “She Sells Sanctuary” (Added many missing + lyrics, fixed phrase markers, fixed one broken phrase.)

    * David Bowie – “Heroes” (Split one note tube and made it a slide.)

    * David Bowie – “Moonage Daydream” (Adjusted pitches in several spots.)

    * Evanescence – “Call Me When You’re Sober” (Removed some extra + lyrics, slight timing tweaks, fixed one lyric’s text.)

    * Fall Out Boy – “I Don’t Care” (Removed extraneous lyrics/notes.)

    * Foreigner – “Juke Box Hero” (Adjusted one note tube’s length, and pitches on two others.)

    * Franz Ferdinand – “Lucid Dreams” (Adjusted hidden/visible lyrics to help with this cluster[expletive] of a song.)

    * GLaDOS and Jonathan Coulton – “Still Alive” (Fixed note tubes touching.)

    * Gorillaz – “Re-Hash” (Adjusted several phrase markers, adjusted timing on a couple of tubes.)

    * Iron Maiden – “Can I Play With Madness” (Fixed capitalization of a lyric.)

    * Iron Maiden – “Wasted Years” (Adjusted note tube lengths. Quantize issue.)

    * Jimmy Eat World – “Sweetness” (Adjusted “listening” lyric on one spot to better fit audio.)

    * Judas Priest – “Screaming For Vengeance” (Removed extraneous percussion section phrase markers.)

    * Judas Priest – “(Take These) Chains” (Fixed tube length in one spot.

    * The Knack – “My Sharona” (Fixed pitches for two notes in outro. Off by a semitone, iirc.)

    * The Monkees – “Last Train to Clarksville” (Added two missing lyric events.)

    * Mötley Crüe – “Face Down in the Dirt” (Changed hidden/visible status of a few lyrics.)

    * Mötley Crüe – “Saints of Los Angeles” (Adjusted phrase marker.)

    * Mötley Crüe – “Slice of Your Pie” (Fixed capitalization on some lyrics.)

    * Mötley Crüe – “Time For Change” (Removed extra + lyric.)

    * Mötley Crüe – “Without You” (Phrase was accidentally split. Fixed that.)

    * Muse – “Hysteria” (Removed several extraneous + lyrics.)

    * Nazareth – “Hair of the Dog” (Adjusted a LOT of pitches here. Think there were some issues w/ tuning_cents I didn’t catch.)

    * Nickelback – “Rockstar” (Moved lyric timing.)

    * No Doubt – “Bathwater” (Weirdly I had “Can’t help” instead of “Can’t help it” in several places. Changed that.)

    * No Doubt – “Different People” (Adjusted timing for one tube.)

    * No Doubt – “Don’t Speak” (Adjusted two tubes’ timing/placement.)

    * No Doubt – “Ex-Girlfriend” (Made several lyrics talkies on harmony parts, iirc. That or fixed the pitches.)

    * No Doubt – “Happy Now” (Adjusted timing for one tube.)

    * No Doubt – “Hey You” (Several minor pitch adjustments.)

    * No Doubt – “Just a Girl” (Timing adjustments in several places.)

    * No Doubt – “Sixteen” (Timing adjustments, added several missing + lyrics for slides.)

    * No Doubt – “Spiderwebs” (One pitch adjustment.)

    * No Doubt – “Tragic Kingdom” (Timing adjustments and one pitch adjustment, by a semitone.)

    * No Doubt – “World Go ‘Round” (Proper casing for one lyric’s text.)

    * No Doubt – “You Can Do It” (Adjusted timing for several tubes. Quantize issue.)

    * Papa Roach – “Time is Running Out” (Fixed two “Time” lyrics that were erroneously hidden.)

    * Queens of the Stone Age – “3’s & 7’s” (Adjusted one set of lyrics/tubes to better fit vocal.)

    * Queens of the Stone Age – “Sick Sick Sick” (Adjusted timing slightly in a lot of places, changed hidden/visible lyrics.)

    * REO Speedwagon – “Take It on the Run” (Removed extraneous + lyric.)

    * Rise Against – “Prayer of the Refugee” (Added some missing notes/lyrics, tweaked hidden/visible lyrics.)

    * Rise Against – “Re-Education (Through Labor)” (Adjusted timing, capitalization.)

    * Rise Against – “Savior” (Adjusted hidden/visible lyrics. Removed dupe part.)

    * Rob Zombie – “Dragula” (Added missing harmony part that was on H3 before it was removed. Removed extraneous phrase markers.)

    * Roy Orbison – “You Got It” (Adjusted H2/H3 mapping.)

    * Rush – “Limelight (Original Version)” (Removed percussion phrase markers.)

    * Serj Tankian – “Beethoven’s C***” (Adjusted timing on one tube.)

    * Siouxsie and The Banshees – “Kiss Them For Me” (One tube’s timing. Possibly? I think I may not have adjusted it after all.)

    * Smashing Pumpkins – “Zero” (Adjusted some phrase markers.)

    * SpongeBob SquarePants – “I Can’t Keep My Eyes Off of You” (Removed extra phrase marker, adjusted pitches on two phrases.)

    * Styx – “Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)” (Changed one lyric to a talkie.)

    * Styx – “Renegade” (Fixed H2/H3 mapping.)

    * Styx/REO Speedwagon – “Can’t Stop Rockin'” (Tweaked some lyric weirdness, removed phrase marker.)

    * The Stone Roses – “Love Spreads” (Adjusted timing on several note tubes.)

    * Taking Back Sunday – “MakeDamnSure” (Extended one tube. Quantize issue.)

    * Toby Keith – “She’s a Hottie” (Adjusted several pitches.)

    * Weezer – “Buddy Holly” (Shortened one tube to better align w/ other parts.)

    * Weezer – “El Scorcho” (Split phrase marker that I forgot to split.)

    * Weezer – “The Greatest Man That ever Lived” (Hid one lyric, added missing + lyric.)

    * The White Stripes – “You Don’t Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You’re Told)” (Added missing + lyric.)

    * The Who – “Who Are You?” (Fixed note tubes touching.)

    * Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force – “Damnation Game” (Fixed phrase markers.)

I’ll be continuing to test out tracks going forward until I’ve played through every song once in RB4; note, however, that the April patch HMX released fixed a bunch of issues with charts (mostly small stuff, like misalignments), and I don’t have a list of those fixes. It’s entirely possible I won’t fix an RB3 issue because it is no longer one in RB4, so if you happen to catch anything I don’t, please open an issue on the RBHP GitHub (https://github.com/rbhp-espher/rbhp).

    See you guys in a few months, or w/e. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

I couldn’t spot/repro a cause for this but I’ll dive back in if you’re still seeing it after a rebuild.

Edit: Just in case there was any weirdness, I just went and re-exported the .mid and am re-uploading the master/2010 packages with that file.

For Bring Me to Life I left the first measure blank since Harmonix had the song start right in 1.1.00, which would leave people unable to prepare for it, so I hope that is acceptable.

Here’s video previews of the Keys upgrades

So with “Smokin'”, is the organ solo still charted to guitar as well?

Edit: Nevermind, the guitar animations during the solo answered that for me.

Yeah, can’t really touch that since it would affect the leaderboards and all.

Yeah, I was realizing that was a pretty stupid question after I asked it.

Thanks, I’ve always had it since the last build but i’ll do a new song cache in a couple of days and see if this resolves it, thanks a ton again!

Awesome – Linos, any objections if I include those videos on the spreadsheet for the keys charts/parts?
