What are your favorite custom songs to play? Most fun, most technical, most challenging, whatever….
March 5, 2016 at 12:31 am #464669Converge – All We Love We Leave Behind
BTBAM – Swim to the Moon
Mastodon – Quintessence and Capillarian Crest
King Crimson – 21st Century Schizoid Man
Camel – Nimrodel/Procession/The White Rider
Genesis – Firth of Fifth
Alexisonfire – No Transitory
Off the top of my head. Mostly prog stuff.
March 5, 2016 at 2:17 am #464675Dream Theater – Panic Attack & Pull Me Under ( anything from DT will always be a challenge on drums )
Rush – All of 2112 & then some !! Neil Peart ( one of the best in the biz still rocking today )
Led Zeppelin – Moby Dick ( anything with Jon Bonham.) Some would say best rock drummer ever ? I agree
Judas Priest – Painkiller ( A good warm up song gets the blood pumping )
King Crimson – 21st Century Schizoid Man ( Always a favorite of mine )
Metallica – Any song. ( Lars is great and on the difficult side to follow at times at least for me )
Anything with a good beat is ok with me. I like all kinds of music !! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
March 5, 2016 at 4:52 am #464680I was just thinking of Peart the other day and how he is hailed as one of the greats. I admit I had no Rush, but I just grabbed a bunch! I am more of a Travis Barker fan myself. I stick mostly to Pop Punk and New Wave/Post-Hardcore/Screamo type stuff, but I am wanting to expand my collection with some fun and challenging stuff. I do have all the Metallica songs and I grabbed Moby Dick, sounds sick!
I love Swim to the Moon, but couldn’t find it. Maybe I am not searching well enough?
March 5, 2016 at 5:24 am #464689Mastodon – Last Baron. This song is insanely fun to play. Mastodon songs are always my favorites, but this is my favorite Mastodon song, ergo, all-time favorite to play.

Neil Peart retired late last year.

Right here, man. It probably isn’t in the database since this was released before the database was created, and the author has been inactive for some time.

Well thanks Chips, You would think being a Big fan of the Professor & Rush for many years, I should have known that……. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

March 5, 2016 at 2:08 pm #464717He didn’t. He said touring is too much.

Oh wow, I didn’t realize there were releases here that weren’t in the database. Now to spend hours sifting through them all. Thanks!
March 5, 2016 at 9:35 pm #464748Although not a custom, move along by the All-American Rejects is super fun, I would definitely recommend picking that song up from the music store. They throw in disco beats, paradiddles, and unique drum beats that is ridiculously fun.
March 5, 2016 at 11:20 pm #464755I play on the Wii, so the amount of stuff I have access to is pretty limited. I think I have that AAR song though. I will give it another shot.

They throw in paradiddles because the chart is plain wrong, it’s been driving me mad since its release. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”> The entire song is played with a simple alternating sticking on a drumset, while in game it becomes this nonsensical technical exercise that doesn’t remotely resemble the original part.
Ranting over, you can all move along now. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif”>

I actually didn’t know that. I always thought it seemed uncharacteristically technical for a band like that.
