The title is pretty self-explanatory. I’m kind of new to creating customs, so yeah.
January 26, 2016 at 2:46 am #462569Unless you have the actual isolated vocal tracks, you’ll have to record these yourself. They’re only used for lip syncing, and are not included in the mix, so nobody else will ever hear them except for you. Just make sure you enunciate everything as closely to the singer as possible, and as clearly as you can. That’s all there is to it.

There should actually be a sub-forum where we can post our self-created dry vox files. Especially for those of us who can’t sing.
I’m sure they’d be a lot of *ahem*…fun…to listen to!

I think we should all send our dryvox files in to someone, then they post them all anonymously and we have to guess who did each one!

I think we could probably figure them out based on *who* posted *what* to the customs database. Like…if I heard “Ruby Tuesday”…I’m pretty sure I’d guess it was you ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
But the kernel of your idea sounds like a lot of goofy fun. Let’s pick a song that hasn’t been authored yet, and people can record a dry vocal track, post it to Mediafire, and then send the link to a “collector” who will post the links, but not the author’s names for each specific track. Then we can guess who did which tracks.
I’d predict that two things would happen: 1) we’d find out who can really, legitimately sing (hint: it’s not me), and 2) soembody would eventually take the really awful/funny dry vocals and mix them into the actual song and release it as a custom for entertainment purposes.
Sounds like “win-win” to me.

Speaking of which, how much would people be willing to pay for access to those dryvox files?
Or have them destroyed? ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />

Yeah, they pretty much did. I imagine anyone who had second thoughts and didn’t want them heard probably didn’t send them in at all!
January 26, 2016 at 9:50 pm #462612Oh god I remember that. Mine was soo bad. I can still make it out even in the final mix.

Yours had a ton of character. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif”>
January 26, 2016 at 11:23 pm #462618There’s gotta be “That Guy” at the show, right?
Nemo was our “That Guy”. Cranked him up in the break and ending. Perfect!
It’s funny how the ear works, honing in on the familiar amidst the noise. I can still pinpoint my wife in this mix, despite a billion people contributing backing tracks: https://hatedept.bandcamp.com/track/broken-rule
