Custom IDs?

Now, I had the thing at the top of the screen (I’m on Xbox 360, by the way) saying xxx out of xxx songs. I looked through the other forum posts first before starting my own thread and saw that this is usually a Custom Song ID conflict. I’m not sure why, because I have left everything alone with my customs, they should all have whatever ID the creator gave them.
But anyway, I now know what the issue is. And I worked out how to edit them in the C3 tool if I need to, but I’m not sure which song(s) (of probably 800 that I’ve downloaded) are the ones having the issues.
So, and here’s my question, is there a way to just bulk edit the IDs on my custom songs so I can make them all zzzzz0001 – zzzzz0800? That would be way easier than trying to upload the songs a few at a time to figure out which ones aren’t working and then go through and edit the ID on each one. I know that’s an option, and I’ll do that if I have to, but I was hoping someone else somewhere along the way has encountered this problem and come up with a better solution.

So? Creators are given tools that would, in theory, make this a non-issue. But a lot of people don’t use the tools correctly or at all, and any old customs you have also may not follow the unique id system. So it can happen.

Yes. With Magma: C3. Get it from the link in my signature. The first time you run it it’ll ask you for your author ID, which is your forum member ID. Follow the instructions and once set up, you can go to the options and batch re-assign IDs with your unique ID.

Awesome, Thanks!

I tried to do the batch reassign IDs and it didn’t update any of them.
It gave me two errors:
For the first few songs it said “The following CON files already had numeric IDs so I skipped them” and for the second batch of songs it said “The following CON files gave me errors and I could not replace the song IDs correctly”
Why would every song fail out like that?
January 14, 2016 at 2:40 pm #462076Well, it won’t override working unique IDs, but the ones with errors well obviously I don’t know why they didn’t work. You’d need to share the specific log. Does it mention what the errors are?

I did it with a smaller batch just to see if I could get a specific error. But then it worked. So maybe it just can’t handle too many all at once.
January 14, 2016 at 4:33 pm #462079I don’t remember which songs they were, but I defenetly saw (twice) two completely different songs with identical magma assigned ID. This could be the problem.
