I’ve only now noticed that whenever I use a talkie in the beginning of a phrase, the entirety of it will be displayed in italics, even if it’s a pitched phrase.
The reverse also happens and I have absolutely no idea how to fix it
I’ve read the rbndocs a couple of times and didn’t find aynthing about this, but I think every custom I’ve played doesn’t suffer from this issue. Am I supposed to add something to the lyrics such as how #s, ^s and $s works?

I hope you mean s#, s^, and s$ ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

I meant as in the first note of a phrase, if it’s non-pitched, the entirety of the notes in that same phrase will be displayed in italics, regardless if they are pitched or non-pitched, and vice-versa.

Well I meant to pluralize the #, ^ and $, but yeah, I did mean that.

Uh… TXT? I author the lyrics manually, so I don’t… really have a txt file with the lyrics…
But for a better understanding of what I mean, this pic depicts the issue:
The phrase starts with a non-pitched # note then the rest of them are authored with pitches like normal, but they still retain the italics that should only happen when there’s a talkie
(This is an old pic from another song that I authored but that suffers from the same problem)

P.S. I suggest you do lyrics with a TXT and then import them, if you do them note by note it’s slower. You can also export all your lyrics with CAT. It’s also easier to spellcheck them if you have a TXT file.

(Not the same one as the picture, this is the one I’m currently having issues with, so it’s incomplete)
The issue happens in HARM3 and 2 at 15.0 time mark, for example. It begins with an unpitched phrase in HARM3 and then the rest of the talkies in HARM2 come out with the text looking like regular pitched phrases, and not in italics like they’re supposed to.
I don’t know, when I began authoring I tried using a TXT and it got me all confused, as there were some words that didn’t need to be separated and slides, so I started doing them manually.
I’ll keep that in mind, though
September 28, 2015 at 9:20 am #456126Every time you do things differently than they should be done you’re running the risk of introducing errors. In this case all your lyrics are text events, something that doesn’t happen if you properly import lyrics.

Well I thought most people did the same way so I didn’t think it would cause any trouble at all…
So if I change them to lyrics they should work, right?
Also how am I supposed to insert lyrics like you said, using TXT files? I tried pressing the commands as in the tutorial video by Nyxyxylyth but nothing happens at all.
September 28, 2015 at 11:34 pm #456167Use C3 CON Tool’s MIDI cleaner to fix the lyrics in one go. If SHIFT-L doesn’t work for you after you’ve selected all notes, look for the Import lyrics… action in the MIDI window Actions menu and assign it to a shortcut.

Ok, so I used the MIDI cleaner to fix the lyrics and then I did the rest of the lyrics the way you said, but…
For some reason the problem still persists?

(Sorry for the low quality pic)
Does the scrolling speed have anything to do with the issue? It was set to Fast in the pic above.
October 1, 2015 at 9:13 am #456358Are you sure you’ve used the right MIDI and that now the lyrics are not Text events anymore?

Yes, 100% sure.
If I click on any lyrics, it will in fact say Lyrics, so yeah.
Maybe it could be related to the fact I’m using a Wii?
October 1, 2015 at 9:47 am #456364Not really, repost your RPP please.
