Authoring different version of official song?

    First of all, I remember seeing somewhere that we can’t author songs that are already official and are/were on the RB Store/Games, even if the authoring is entirely different.

     

    If that is the case (as I’m not sure if I saw actual staff saying that), are we allowed to do different versions of these songs?

    Like Live versions for studio recordings in the game and vice-versa;

     

    For example, Lithium has a live version; with that in mind, could I author the studio version?

    and Teen Spirit has a studio version, could I author a Live version?

     

    I read the rules a couple of times and used the search function beforehand to see if this had been asked, but didn’t find anything. :sweatdrop:

    You can *author* whatever you want, we just won’t allow linking to songs for which a version can be bought on the store or is available for the RB platform in general. Alt versions are allowed.
