Hello sports fans. Is RB to USB compatible with TU5? I thought it was but don’t want to mess anything up.

You need to have TU4 to play customs. Your customs will still show up on TU5 but they won’t work if you try to play them.

To answer your question, RBtoUSB should work fine with all Rock Band related files, whether they’re for customs or not (i.e. settings, save game file, download data, official dlc, etc). If you have a Rock Band related file that RBtoUSB doesn’t work with, let me know.
