Hey good morning.
I’ve been playing customs without issue for a long time. All of a sudden, every time I try to boot from my old disc, without the MadCatz logo, it loads with the MadCatz logo and I get a disc read error. To confirm:
1. I have the correct title update in the correct place
2. I am booting directly from the disc
3. I had the newer digital version of RB3 on the hard drive, but deleted that
4. I am not connected to the Internet
5. Everything was working fine and all of a sudden it is not. It happened in the middle of session a few weeks ago and I haven’t gotten it to work since.
Any other ideas? Thanks.
edit – I found where the game somehow sneakily downloaded title update #5 to the console, around the time it started on that exact day. Pretty sure that started my problem. But even after deleting, I fired up the game again and still got a disc read error.

You have not, or at least you have TU5 installed, either on the HDD or on the USB stick, or you’re loading the digital version.
July 12, 2015 at 2:52 pm #450080It’s not that issue any more. It’s title update 4 and title update 5 is no longer anywhere system at all. Not on the console or the customs drive. It was, and I was getting the MadCatz logo. Totally get that and I have no idea how it happened, but I recognize that was the problem. I’ve been playing since week 1 of C3 releases.
Since I deleted the digital version and deleted title update 5 from the console, it loads without the MadCatz logo and I’m still getting a disc read error at the same spot. I suppose my disc could have kicked the bucket, it’s not pristine, but weird that it happened at the exact same time that all this started. Are there other considerations why this might happen the TU issues and general disc issues?
July 12, 2015 at 2:56 pm #450081Where exactly are you getting the error and on which songs?
July 12, 2015 at 3:11 pm #450082I was getting it just past the “Press Start” screen and before it starts checking song data. Now that you ask that, I remember when I was trying to figure out this whole thing in the beginning, it would error when you pick a song right? I think that means my disc is fried. I also tried on the upstairs console and it gave me error at the same spot. There’s a big ring on the back of the disc that I don’t remember seeing before. Maybe when the system crashed back in June and the disc came to a halt it scratched at the same time. I don’t know.
