I was trying to download some new custom songs into my xbox when i forgot to put the flash stick into the system. The game launched without the flash stick inserted and i canceled the #5 update to rockband. Now all my stars, fans, character creations are all gone! I tried inserting the flash stick back into the xbox and tried turning the system off and on again. Still everything is missing. I still have all my songs though. It’s just a serious pain right now. Where did all my goals and progress go? Is it no longer retrievable?

One trick I learned is, set a passcode on your profile and set it to auto-sign in, this will make it so when you turn on your 360, it auto signs into your profile in OFFLINE mode. (if it asks for your passcode to go online just click “B” to Cancel) This way every time you boot up you can just go straight into RB3 in offline mode without having to unplug your wifi or Internet cable from the xbox.
June 27, 2015 at 10:38 am #449083When you launched the game without your stick in, it created a savegame the only location it could: your HDD. Now that savegame has precedence on whatever other medium you insert. You just need to delete the new savegame data from your HDD.
June 27, 2015 at 10:49 am #449084Right now I have a save game on both my HDD and my customs stick. RB3 will ask me when it starts up which location I want to load from. I would assume (and hope) that WizeGuy’s would too.
Back when I first started using customs I had this happen to me, and had to start all over. What happened was, I started up RB3 without a TU at all (I hadn’t put it in the right place on the customs stick) and the game basically told me my save game wasn’t compatible with that version and my choices were to either create a new save game or continue without saving. I had no idea what was happening so I hit make a new save, and that was the end

If something similar happened to you… I’m sorry
” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” /> There’s no way that I know of to get it back. I heartily second Cuban’s suggestion of making a regular backup of your save.
