Why am I getting this and how can I fix it?
MIDI Compiler: Starting…
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (MIDI FILE): bad track name: ‘PART DRUMS‰(ÿ
PART’
MIDI Compiler: Done.
ERROR: Project Compiler: Midi compiler failed.
The Track Name text event in each track is what defines this. If it doesn’t seem to show up garbled like that in PART DRUMS (or any other track) try deleting and re-creating the track name event in each.
Also make sure the track name event is of type “Track Name”. It should be spelled exactly like this: “PART DRUMS” without the quotations.
If you’ve done all this already, try checking the events list. You can view this by looking at the notechart like normal, then clicking view -> mode: events list (mode: named notes should be selected, choose this again to restore the original view). The only types of events in there should be notes, text events or track names (as far as I know).
