I realized I am LTTP on this but I need some drum silencer pads for my Rock Band 2?/3? drums with the pro cymbals. Would something like this be a good buy?

It’s a random seller on eBay and obviously not the official drum silencer pads sold by Harmonix (those are crazy expensive since they are impossible to find now days) but do you think they will get the job done? Thanks in advance.

They will, they will also take a fair bit of rebound away from the pads.

okay thanks for the reply. do you think there is any risk with these making the pads not register hits as good?

Shouldn’t make any more difference than the PDP – and those were rubber, right? I just went ahead and ordered some, although I went for the slightly more expensive 2-layer ones here.

          No risk of that.

Mine arrived, thought I would share some pics and some thoughts:

I owned the PDP ones with another TBRB drumset I had. The PDPs were made of rubber and covered the entire pad. These are made of a fuzzy felt material and only cover the inside of the pad circle, not the plastic ring around it. For me, that is essentially what bothers me, since I’m a pretty shitty drummer and I’m always accidentally hitting the rim of the pads and that’s where the annoyingly loud plastic clack comes in.

Overall, it does dampen the sound a bit, but not nearly as much as I vaguely remember the PDPs doing. Considering I paid $20 for these from eBay and I had paid $5 for brand new PDPs at a Gamestop, I so miss those.

Thanks for the video and review.

Yeah, I appreciate the review too. I ended up actually never getting these but if those are the ones that had the double/extra layer of foam I doubt the ones I was looking at (cheaper, thinner) would really do much of anything.

yeah these were the slightly more expensive ones. Not exactly groundbreaking quality. The PDPs were the superior product. I wish I had stocked up on those.

I ordered some off eBay this afternoon. They are called drumshh. I will report back when I receive them.
