      Hello,

I am having a bit of a decision making roadblock here. In the chart I am working on, I have a section of bass that uses a four note range towards the high end, so it goes like B-O-O-B-Y-O-B-Y-Y-Y-Y-B-Y-R-R-R-R-R-R. But it immediately transitions to a bunch of 8th notes that are lower than R, so I figure no problem, that’s green. So then it goes 8xG, then 8xY, and then oh crap, it goes lower than the first G. Now what? Start over making this note G and cut my losses, even if it is no longer consistent with the start of the section (it goes on for about 15 measures but does not show up again) or start with R or Y even though it’s lower than the preceding section?

      Advice?

Without seeing the chart or hearing the song, I’d consider starting the notes lower than the initial R back on Y. So you’ve got Y, B, Y, R (or you can go back to G). You need to shift from the R, and it doesn’t make sense to jump up to B, if the lowest note after that will end up being G (edit: unless the last button of that pattern would be the same as the first button afterwards, in which case you may want to go to .

It’s a wrapping issue. No solution will be perfect or pretty, but go with something that flows. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
