I found a MIDI file online for a song I was working on, and it was very helpful. However, the song I’m doing is 160 bpm, but for some reason the MIDI file is at 80 bpm, and has 1/32 notes instead of 1/16.
I tried just changing the tempo map, but now the notes are twice as close together as they should be. Is there any way I can easily space them out so they fit the proper bpm?
Draw a note at the first beat of a certain length (snap to grid). Select all the notes and CTRL+click drag the note to exactly double the length. This will work for any tempo change ratio you need to make, but double/half time is most common.
Okay thank you!
I always forget that method. I can never remember it 0_o
You could also go to the track properties and change the playback to 2.0x

Unless you then want to export the MIDI to Magma, in which case you can’t. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

Thinking about it now, I believe I’ve only ever done that on the “midi” file, which I pasted into my tracks and tweaked. Did not know that the export is not effected by the playback. Very goo to know, thank you! Haven’t ran into that problem yet, but likely could have, and would have had no idea ha.
