I know i’ve been asking a lot of questions today and the answers have been very helpful i encountered some errors in magma that states ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (MIDI FILE): Could not find MIDI track authored for keys, possibly due to incorrect track name event

ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (PART REAL_KEYS): Difficulty expert: No keyboard ranges

does anyone know how to fix these i don’t have a key part so i don’t know why its talking about it

Mute the keys track in reaper and export midi again and make sure keys is not checked in the magma setup.

You sure have. Have you considered that it would be much nicer to put them all in one thread, nice and organized?

      #440797

that did help one problem now i got ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (‘PART GUITAR’): play event at [2] is less than 2 beats from the beginning

Make sure you have notes for the entire BEAT track, not just at the beginning, and that you have at least two notes in the BEAT track before this point.

Let me stop you right there. You are proceeding by just doing step by step without having your information. That is just not the way to go. You need to read the RBN docs first, otherwise you don’t know what you need to do. If you don’t have a BEAT track you are missing a key piece of authoring. It’s great that you have enthusiasm but you can’t rely on just banging your head against corners until you find the right way, you need to get a bit more informed first. Also, yes, please keep your requests to one thread, at least until you have narrowed them down a lot.

i’ll relook into it i didn’t realize that the beat track was so important i thought it was something that was going to be done last

Are you saying that it’s not loading the song audio or the midi?

          #440814

your supposed to rip the audio from reaper to get it in a wave format and put it magma aren’t you

Yeah, thats what I do to be sure that it’s in time with the notes. I always solo the track to be double sure im not getting outside interference but thats just me

            #440818

It keeps saying something about you have audio stems with differnet sample rates and/orbits per sample all audio stems must have matching bits per sample 16bit or 24 only i use the silence audio with the song from reaper audio

I think you might have missed this post – the smileys were blinding : (emphasis mine)

To be honest, you’ll need to read the docs over and over and over. And scour the forums, you are not the first person with the same errors/issues/questions. And if you follow the docs closely the first time through, these issues are either covered or will never crop up. The learning process takes time, patience and many hours of practice. Authoring is not a “know-it-at-a-glance” process, ask anyone here who is sharing a custom.
