Try to keep this as simple as possible.
– I’m using Party Buffalo 2.0.1.0
– My USB stick is setup properly (v4 title update, xbox not connected to live)
The problem I have is that files simply won’t load, anything new from the C3 database. The songs download fine, and appear to be written to the USB stick fine in Party Buffalo (I can see that they’ve been transferred fine when viewing the stick in Party Buffalo)
When I boot up Rock Band 3, I’ve noticed its now stating I have to run the title update, which I always decline and can play fine. Previously it used to advise there was an update available, now it states I must update. This has only been the case for the last 2-3 weeks, and may well be entirely coincidental.
When I boot rock band up, it scans the DLC and stalls on 346 songs found. If I add more, it never recognizes them. I can play all others fine, including previously loaded songs.
Its an 8GB stick with plenty of space on it. Is the issue perhaps that I’ve simply got too many songs?
Its really got me stumped, they download fine, Party Buffalo writes them fine with no errors, but RB simply won’t load or see them.
Any help greatly appreciated ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

That will never be the answer. The only time you have “too many” songs is when you go beyond 2952 and the game tells you so. Any other issue is based on 1) problems with the program you use to transfer files or 2) song cache / id conflicts.
Well thats a relief of sorts, at least I won’t have to start purging the collection. I just wish something somewhere would throw up an error. At least I’d know what the problem is then!
Well, we’re doing things with and to the game that Harmonix didn’t really have to account for. From their end, you have two solutions for any problem 1) re-download the song (and since it’s done through Xbox Live, transfer problems are not a concern) and 2) rebuild your song cache. So make sure you’ve tried both.
If you have, and still have the same problem, get another USB, try copying some of those songs that don’t show up to that USB, and try again. If they show up, it’s a problem with your transfer program.
Just thought I’d update this for anyone having the same problem now or in the future.
Basically, I just took all the songs off the stick and started from scratch with a new stick. Problem now solved.
You are about to leave Rhythm Gaming World and access the external songs DB. While no song or file sold for commercially available videogames is hosted there and only fan generated content is allowed, Rhythm Gaming World has no direct control over the database and no files are hosted here. Alright, we had to made you aware of this, now you can visit the database!
