Just wanted to know, what does everyone listen with when authoring and/or playing songs?
I bought a pair of Sony MDR7506’s for $85 back in April and I’m glad I did.
When I realized my shitty earbuds were preventing me from picking out a bassline, I knew an upgrade needed to be made.
What does everyone else use?
Before my chronic face wound prevented me to use proper headphones I used SteelSeries headphones which I find to be really good, both in comfort and sound quality. I have the stereo versions rather than the surround versions though as I don’t know if the surround ones would be any good for music mixing
For the past year I have been using shitty earplug headphones though, which have been a pain ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />

The fake leather breaks down but it has no impact on the performances.
Grado SR80, over and over and over
I use regular Apple headphones. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
Uhh…Samson HP10. They get the job done.

And there you go.
I’m partial to Sennheiser headphones, after my stepfather bought me a pair. They tend to be on sale a lot, but they are good-quality headphones for the price. Similar to Farottone’s experience with the Rolands, the Sennheisers have fake leather that likes to flake off the earpads after a while, but even then they’re still perfectly usable.
At work I have HD 228’s, similar to the HD 229’s now on the market. I forget the exact model I have at home, but I believe they are (or similar to) the HD 201’s, cheap but still quite nice.
I have a pair of wireless Beats headphones that I use for everything
I have some Turtle Beach headphones that I got for Christmas last year, and they’re comfortable and do wonders with music, though I’ve been told that my audio is choppy when chatting through online games.
Like Fuji, I have Sennheisers. HD 280 pro to be precise.

I’ve had a pair of these for something like 4 years and they are by far the most durable headphones I’ve ever owned. They’re really good at withstanding the abuse I put them through ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_emot-3.gif” />
When drumming, I always use my ancient (they are at least 25 years old) pair of Sennheiser HD414’s. They’re the lightest & best headphones I’ve ever used. I’ve had the wires into the earpieces repaired once, and replaced the foam pads 3 or 4 times. I’ve never seen anything else like them on the market.
