As the title says, this is my first attempt at making a custom RB song. It is pretty rough around the edges, but I charted Guitar/Bass/Pro Drums/Vox/Harm on Expert.

I would like someone to look it over a bit and give me any suggestions. Please tell me if you want to see my Reaper file and I will PM it to you. I recorded a video with my phone of my TV and also did a video of Reaper, but it is laggy :/ The links are here:

      Questions/Notes:

      – I haven’t done any drum fills or overdrive, except for vocals and harmonies.

      – I CAT’d the charts, but haven’t got around to editing them yet.

      – I did use two YouTube video to help me chart. One was a fan-made instrumental (

), and a piano cover for vocals (

      ).

      – All times mentioned in the questions below are referring to Reaper.

      Guitar:

      – Should I add the strums in at 1:13 (right before the chorus)?

      Bass:

      – I cannot hear the bass at all in the choruses because it is drowned out, so I just used the same pattern as the verses.

      – At 1:24, should I make the bass notes jump up to orange to match the guitar part? Or maybe to blue, and then put the upcoming blue notes on orange?

      Drums:

      – In the first and second verses, I put green toms but I can barely tell if they are actually in the song or not. They are definitely in at 2:39.

      – Should I keep the flams at the beginning of the snare rolls (like at 1:36)?

      – I had a hard time figuring out what was going on at the drum breakdown at 2:45. I think I might have charted some toms to kicks, but I’m not sure.

      – When playing the drum part at 3:23, it feels a little off sync in game. Idk if that is just me or not.

      Vocals:

      – I put the English words in all caps just as a personal preference so I can know when I should use an English pronunciation when singing. I will change it back to normal for the final release.

      – Vocals are really rough (especially harmonies). I still need to make a pass to check that tubes aren’t extending over consonants, add pitches to some of the rap lyrics, fix some unmarked talkies, capitalization in phrases, etc.

      – The solo vocal track is pretty cluttered because of the alternating rappers, so I might need to cut some stuff for breathing room.

      – I added the harmonies in just to check that they would work in game and to make separate ones for both of the vocalists. I know there are real harmonies in the chorus, but I am really terrible at picking out notes so idk if I will be able to add them. The only reason I was able to put vocals in this song is because I found a piano cover on YouTube which displayed the notes.

      – There are two vocalists in this song. The third harmony track is only the “one two three four” because it overlaps with both vocalists, and the girl talking before the breakdown. I’ll add any more harmonies here (if I do them).

I am so excited to see some K-Pop customs! I am not good at giving feedback, but it played good for me. I played it on Expert Drums and it felt fine to me.

No problem, I’m glad you felt like it played well! If you ever try any of the other parts, be sure to tell me what you think!
