This is an idea that just popped in my head, and I am hoping that there is someone out there will to give some help for other authors in this aspect.

I am forever grateful that the C3Magma has the autogeneration of venue tracks, as I find the more that I look into creating my own, the more confused I get. The autogen works great for finished customs, but I find that songs created as ” only” or songs with no guitar, drums, ect. has the awkward issue of moments where the camera is panning over the player doing/singing nothing.

I was wondering if someone with decent venue creation skills would be able to create a .rpp file that has “pre-set” venue tracks for creators who may fall into one of those categories?

More so, there can be Venue tracks for:

    D_1

    D_2

    D_3

    G_1

    G_2

    V_1

    V_2

    DG_1

    DV_1

    DGV_1

    ect.

I used Drums, Guitar, and Vocals for the example as they seem to be the most used for solo-instrument creations.

This way, someone who created a Drums Only custom can drag in a pre-created venue track that just focuses on the drummer. A track that has only Vocals for people who create vocal only songs.

I understand this isn’t something easy, and of course a track will never be perfect for EVERY song… but it could be a great help. I’ve been working on release some Drum Only tracks from an album (with someone else working on the rest of the band just not finished yet), and I hate playing the files and noticing the camera panning over the guitarist just standing there and such.

This is a great idea. The auto generate theme is very hit and miss. It seems the more complete the custom is the less sense it makes.

I mean, I’m sure it’s honestly not TOO hard to just throw in the drummer specific cues every couple measures or so… just hoping someone with good experience could start making some that they know flow pretty well and look/activate visually well.

My end vision would be a .rpp that people could download from the Authoring Docs and such section… that just has tons of preset venues you could pull from. At least 5 of each instrument specific for different looks. You could just copy the track you want over to your file.

I’m going to try and sit down and actually learn the venue documents (or at least try) and see if I can get started on some. Just not promising anything with my busy schedule as of recently.

That’s not a Magma: C3 feature, that’s a feature that HMX themselves put into the original Magma. I got nothing to do with that.

There are not enough camera cuts that will single out only a player. Even if you manually make it, unless you leave the camera fixated on the one player, you’re going to see the other players, who aren’t playing anything. And if you’re ok with fixating the camera on the player, all you need is one camera cut and that’s it. Leave it there.

The autogeneration is actually very decent, if you know how it works and what you as an author have to do for it to work. A lot of C3 customs are autogenerated and then fixed afterwards, with the fixing required mostly being minimal.

Autogeneration of venue depends on your EVENTS track. If you do a shitty job there, the autogenerated venue sucks. If you time your practice sessions and label them correctly and detailed, then you have a very nice autogenerated venue.

There’s still an official song with only one instrument,

, maybe the venue track could be useful?

And I have released a few customs that try to only show one instrument. My point was it doesn’t work great. It’s not worth the effort.
