    Good evening everyone!

Here’s a little something I pulled together real quick. I think it might be helpful so I’m sharing it with you good folks.

    http://www.mediafire.com/download/6zca8 … erator.zip

Basically, it’s a little util that crawls your PS3, finds all the “songs.dta” files, and finally combine them all in a big single file. And you can then drop that file in the “Setlist Manager” of the C3 Con Tools (yay!).

    How to:

    0) Install from the zip file. It should install the proper dependencies and launch the app once it’s done. The app will show up under “traflaz” in the start menu.

    1) Open your PS3 and Multiman or whatever app you use for FTP

    2) Open PS3PlaylistGenerator.

    3) Type in you PS3’s IP address and FTP port number.

    4) Press start, select where to save the file, then wait patiently!

    A few caveats:

    a) It’s not very smart: It will crawl all the folders on the HDD to find the “songs.dta”. Please be patient, more so if you have a bunch of other stuff on your PS3.

 It doesn’t read the Bluray Drive: So actually, it can’t pull the songs on the RB3 disk.

    c) Some of the early songs (RB1 it seems, maybe more) have very sparse info in their folders and are updated with on-disk data. Again because of caveat , some songs don’t have album names or genre or duration or …

    d) I did test it on my machine, and it works, on my machine. But that’s the only guarantee I can give. I’m not responsible if it crashes your computer/PS3/significant other. etc.. etc…

    So….. enjoy!

Two things while we’re at it:

If someone with an Xbox (and some time on his hands) could make me (and perhaps other PS3 users) a RB3 on-disk Setlist file or a .dta file, I would be very grateful!

Also, if Nemo you’re interested in including this app’s functionality in the C3 CON tools, I’d be happy to send you the source code.

It’s already included with C3 CON Tools in the /bin folder. It’s the extensionless “rb3dta” file, add .txt or .dta to it. Wii and Xbox, unlike the PS3 have the song cache, which is what setlist manager uses. But in there the on-disc songs aren’t kept either. So they get added from this rb3dta file.

Absolutely. Taking a look at the program now. PM coming your way in a bit.

I still have to hear from traflaz, but provided his code for searching through the PS3’s HDD works, then this is already integrated into C3 CON Tools and Setlist Manager now supports PS3s as well. But of course going to wait until he can test this, since again, I don’t have a PS3

I’ll see what I can do!

Will it read it if it’s a fake one (BD emulator via Iris)?

I could try to load the game differently (I have it on a USB HDD).

        I’m going to test this.

Well, it’s a one line recursive search throughout all the stuff in the hard drive. So unless it’s seen by the PS3 as another folder in the hard drive, it shouldn’t read it from a disc nor an emulated disc.

That one concern (missing RB3 songs) is not one to worry, since now that it is (in upcoming release) integrated into C3 CON Tools, the RB3 songs are added for you already.
