Hi everyone:
I haven’t posted much on the forums, but I’ve used customs from this website for sometime now and they work wonderfully. I just ran into the 256-song bug on Party Buffalo and am looking for other software to load customs. Could someone:
1. Explain how to load customs on Modio/wxPirs/something else,
2. Explain how to package customs into a single CON file with the C3 CON Tools, OR
3. Explain how to bypass the bug on Party Buffalo (if possible)
Thanks guys, and keep up the good work with the releases ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
November 26, 2014 at 11:12 pm #4335262 –> I was able to figure out how to put my customs into packages by clicking the packager button on C3Tools.exe and messing around. It was pretty intuitively obvious and no documentation was opened nor read.
What I am finding, though, is that pressing the limit of the packager and making 4 GB bundles (or is the limit 2 GB? No, I think it’s 4 GB…) seems to really slow down the song preview sound in-game. You know, like the game has open up and dig through 4GB worth of data to find the audio each time you move to a new song. I think I’m going to re-do my bundling strategy and make 12-15 song max packages to see if that helps. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
November 27, 2014 at 12:46 am #433532what I do is have 2 usb drives, a large one(32g) which stays in your xbox and holds all your songs and a smaller one(16g) which I use to move over weekly songs from my pc.
using the storage settings interface on the xbox seems to be the most stable way to get your songs on the xbox without hassle. you just find your rock band folder and move the songs over from one usb to the next.

It would be easier if you read the help docs and watched the tutorial video.
The max size per file is 4gb. All my hmx dlc is in 4gb packs and i have no noticeable slowdowns at all.

Like I said, I was able to make the packs no problem without resorting to documentation.
Maybe I get the slowdown because I’m keeping all my customs on the USB stick and not putting them on the HDD.

It was pretty intuitively obvious and no documentation was opened nor readI’ve tried this by putting King Crimson’s In the Court of the Crimson King in one pack, only to have my xbox not recognize the file and any of the songs in-game. Is there a specific way you guys are making your packs that I should know about?

Please help me with this.
You have 1 usb 32GB with all the customs songs?
How did you put them there? With Party Buffalo or with another way?
Then the other usb 16 GB you use to switch?
Thnx
January 4, 2015 at 3:18 am #435638yes, I just load up new weekly songs on the 16 gig(using party buffalo), then I move them off of the 16g to the 32g using the xbox storage settings. After I’m done, there’s no songs on the 16g so you don’t have to worry about running into the 256 bug.
January 4, 2015 at 6:45 pm #435662Great. I will do the same!
January 5, 2015 at 4:48 pm #435710Am I right in thinking that the ‘transfer’ usb stick will not need to have any title updates or anything installed, as it is literally just used to move files across.
What I mean is, I’ve got a spare usb kicking around, can I format it, stick the raw files on and then transfer via the Xbox interface?
January 5, 2015 at 5:05 pm #435711I don’t know why there’s a tendency to make things more difficult. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”> Use one stick for your customs account and if you ever encounter the 256 songs bug just use Horizon instead of Party Buffalo or viceversa, and that will solve the issue. Been doing that since the beginning and I only had to redo my stick once in 3 years because the drive deteriorated.

I only know how to use partybuffallo due to the extremely well done tutorial vid on this site.

Horizon is actually easier because you don’t even have to know where to look for the files, I think the folders are all named in a more intuitive way, and all files have a preview image. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

You are my hero!
My girlfriend bought a 16 GB usb stick and I tried your method and it is perfect.
So I also use 2 usb sticks and renamed them (rockband songs and party buffalo). Put all the songs in the second one and loaded the rest from my pc on the first usb.
Thanks cuz this playes a lot easier
