I have done the DryVox file for another project I am working on and the animated vocalist character is doing his own thing…? The Dryvox is compiled into the project file as expected, so why are his lips moving/not moving when they should correlate with the lyrics in the PartVocal track…?
What have I missed here…? Any ideas please….
November 18, 2014 at 7:04 pm #433110Make sure you have the play markers laid out.
November 18, 2014 at 7:29 pm #433112Yes, they are there. I used C3 tools to do a Vocals Cleanup and also add the animation events in any case….. to confirm a play marker preceedes each verse (they are reasonable instrumental breaks in between)…. confused…
November 21, 2014 at 12:39 pm #433291Is the timing on your dryvox file correct? There’s no blank space that was trimmed or added before or after it in error? Could import your exported dryvox file back into Reaper and check that out to at least rule it out.

This was some time ago that I posted this and with a little help from ‘another forum user .. sorted it last night.
But, you were quite right.. the DryVox has to be the exact same length as the Audio file, physical placement of the Dryvox file correctly in Reaper evidently isnt enough, mine had a gap at the start which logically explains why the lips were ‘out of sync’! Re-rendered the file to start from 1.1.00 , sorted.
THanks
March 13, 2015 at 7:48 pm #440568OK, so my current song I have recorded the Dryvox file in 16KHz Mono as Reaper expects. When I insert the WAV file intro Reaper it seems to randomly dump it on the DryVox track… so I then position the vocals as precisely as I can to marry up with the lead vocalist on the audio track. Fair enough.
I then extend the front of the WAV file for the Dryvox to position 1.1.00 and extend the end of the file to line up with all the other tracks in the Reaper grid.
But when I play the file, the singer doesnt appear to be in time with the song…..only a second or so but it does notice… why would this be….?
To be sure of this apparent lag.. I wanted to force camera focus on the lead singer throughout… but that doesnt appear to be simple to do either.C3 docs state :
“Once you place one camera or lighting MIDI text event in the VENUE track, autogeneration is disabled, and you must author every camera and lighting event. The easiest way to start is to export the autogenerated theme and edit that. On Magma’s Game Data tab, click the Export button, and Magma will combine your tracks with the autogenerated VENUE track in the exported MIDI file.”
So, I have exported the MIDI file from Magma, but how do you then edit the MIDI file…?
I presume in Reaper…? Is this explained somewhere in the C3 docs..?
rDo I have to add another track…. and assuming I can do I simply put a single note on the appropriate line for Camera on Lead Singer..>?
Thank you.

Wow – thanks a bunch…. worked a treat.
(Now to go and correct all my earlier C3 efforts which must all be wrong too….)
