“Texas Flood” by Steve Ray Vaughan is a must for guitar players; varying degrees of difficulty, and save for maybe one of the devil-tiered ones a really fun album throughout.

If you can get past the fact that Slash isn’t in it, “Chinese Democracy” is also really good on guitar. Expect some shredtastic sections in songs, as both Buckethead and Bumblefoot had hands in recording guitar lines in this album. The standout for me is “Better,” though the rest of the album is also really fun.

The Roadrunner Records packs are also must-haves if you’re into metal. The songs in those packs have great guitar on them, and I don’t think there’s a single song that isn’t fun to play in either pack.

Ministry 01 is pretty fun on guitar IMO though perhaps a bit tricky, that Red Hot Chili Peppers pack with the dumb name is of course very fun on Bass because Flea

The correct answer to (nearly) every variation of this question is Fratellis 01 w/ RBHP upgrades.

I say nearly because guitar may not be to your tastes.

Any of the Grateful Dead packs are amazing for guitar. Obviously for bass, go with anything Red Hot Chili Peppers or Rush. From the Rock Band Network, there are some great full albums (released as individual songs, but you can search for band names and all their track will show up) from the bands Free Spirit, and Children of Nova that are excellent on guitar. If you like melodic metal, Amberian Dawn has multiple albums available. There are so many awesome packs available for guitar, it’s hard to even come up with a list, but definitely the Grateful Dead ones immediately come to mind as being favourites.
