Ever since I updated to 4.22 when I cut and paste notes some but not all will fall outside the grid and it seems random. Does anyone else know about this?
November 2, 2014 at 3:24 pm #432023Sounds like you need to quantize the notes. I noticed it occuring more after moving up to 4.22. Quantize quantize quantize all the time now or the errors accumulate. Maybe there a setting I don’t know about that will keep them better in line?

CAT has a Polish notes command that takes care of that better than quantization, because it works only on micro differences, meaning you don’t need to set a specific grid, notes will be snapped to the nearest grid line (I think down to 32T), which is perfect for microalignments. Don’t use the command as a quantization substitute because it’s not its job, it won’t snap to the grid you need the notes to snap to, it will just fix minute errors in alignment.
November 2, 2014 at 3:40 pm #432026That’s another thing is quantitize seems to do nothing. Whether I select a small group of notes or a large number I hit okay and nothing moves. What are the best settings in your opinion?
It also seems to get worse once I’ve pasted and then I adjust the tempo map. There must be a lock features or something?

They move as soon as you click on the Q. If you select cancel, you will see them jump back.

I know Colonel I used to use it just fine before but now it doesn’t adjust anything no matter the settings. Very frustrating
