I have checked the RBN documentation and the specific application of Drum Rolls and how they are laid down on the track is not clear.
I have a 1/4 measure (ascending volume) snare roll. According to RBN docs. I use Standard Rolls on 126
ie. a line of 8x 1/32 notes…
This displays nothing on the visualizer… so I figure perhaps putting a corresponding line of notes on the snare too?
This of course shows on the visualizer as expected. But why do I need the roll notes as they dont change the display… (OR perhaps they simply instruct the game to score regardless of the number of snare hits as this is a roll and the number of actual hits will likely differ from player to player)…?
Thanks
The Visualizer is the tool to generate the info image for your songs, you’re referring to the RBN Preview window. Rolls, swells, trills and tremolo markers won’t show up in the preview window, only in game.
The “Snare Roll” 126 lane is not a note in of itself, you need to lay a sustained one of those at the same time as fully authored notes on drums. Roll markers are not needed for all rolls though, so use them sparingly and only for occasions where it would be nearly impossible to play it on a Rock Band kit (for example, cymbal swells, 64th hits on drums with the help of stick rebound/computer programing, etc.)
