1st off let me tell you a little about myself. I’m 45, married 20 yrs and own/operate a small business.
My priorities in life are
1. Making the wife happy
2. Retiring by 55
3. Making the wife happy
.
.
12. Playing Rock Band
.
.
41. Charting
Now that that’s out of the way. Last year C3 did the 12 Days of Christmas. My friend and I were stoked about the possibilities of the songs that could be coming. Turns out that we downloaded only one (Bon Jovi) so instead of complaining or requesting songs, we were determined to get the songs we wanted (before out instruments died) by tackling this “authoring” thing ourselves. With zero music background and a positive attitude we began our journey with “Love Stinks” by J. Geils. It was obvious we were not very good but we soldiered on and soon became mildly competent and we’re getting better with just about every song we do. Still not C3 quality(or even close for that matter), but we get songs in the game that we like (and can play) and while they might not be note-for-note perfect we have fun with them and the songs take us back to our youth.
What to expect.
For the most part, our songs will be Drums/Guitar expert only. Occasionally, they will be drums only. Once we upload a song, we are done with it. We won’t be fixing anything (unless a mistake in the file makes the song unplayable). We won’t be adding vocals or other instruments but we will be making available all files necessary to those who want to add/fix/reduce. Consider this your permission to take our charts and do with them what you please. Again, we get the songs good enough to play and we don’t obsess over whether it should be a blue cymbal or green cymbal. Animations are Magma created.
Requests.
We appreciate people wanting to get songs in the game but our list is quite long with both what we have done and what we are going to do. So unless you mention a song that has totally slipped our minds your request will probably not get done. You should be able to get a feel for our musical tastes by what we’re releasing. We also look at the request forum and the bounty thread for ideas and have snatched a few songs from there.
I will add this and it’s something I said to my wife 22 years ago when we first moved in together and since we’ve never been apart since then, I guess it worked out alright. “If you don’t like how I’m doing something, by all means, do it yourself.” I will give you everything you need to enhance/fix the songs, but we do this for the enjoyment of playing the songs in-game and not spending countless hours at the computer.
So, here’s the songs that we have already released in the “around the web” thread. We’ll be adding a couple songs a week and I’ll be adding the RPP files when I get them packaged up later this week. Enjoy.

October 5, 2014 at 1:47 pm #430473WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
October 5, 2014 at 6:44 pm #430487Ya, what myfix said. Some good tunes here. Don’t tell my son I downloaded Superstar.
October 6, 2014 at 1:32 am #430529You have impeccable taste in music.
October 6, 2014 at 1:44 am #430531Loved drumming the Hatchet tune.
October 6, 2014 at 1:45 pm #430545A note about this song. The hi-hat throughout the first half of the song is played with the foot, however there are parts of this song where the hi-hat is more prevalent than the tom. So we made a decision to chart the hi-hat to the right hand in some parts (and throw in some kicks where both can be heard) so you’re actually playing what you’re hearing. Right? Wrong? We don’t know but the song plays well and there are enough snare/tom hits to keep things realistic. I know there is already work being done to add the Bass Part and we’ll update that when the time comes.

October 6, 2014 at 2:24 pm #430550This is ass-kicking awesome! The Chain is one of the songs I’ve wanted in RB since the beginning. Glad to hear that a bass part is being worked on; I wish I could do vocals but I’m not really in a position to help out with that at this time. Hopefully somebody will pick it up, as a full-band version of this song would be fantastic.
Keep up the good work!
October 6, 2014 at 3:11 pm #430551The best Fleetwood Mac song imo. Such a masterpice. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_emot-3.gif” />
Thanks so much for this!!
October 6, 2014 at 3:28 pm #430553Thanks for the kind words so far everybody.
One more note about The Chain. To properly chart every note in the beginning of the song, the chart would be a complete mess. So again, we took some liberties to actually make it playable. While it sounds like 2 guitars, if you’ve ever seen Lindsey play it, it’s just one. Kind of Flamenco style.
October 6, 2014 at 3:45 pm #430554The Chain is one of those songs that sadly enough, I was to afraid to tackle. I didn’t think I would do a good enough job at it. Thanks for giving us a start on it. Great to hear the bass line is being worked on. Harmonies would be so awesome on it, but Buckingham/Nicks/McVie era songs are never going to be easy work. If I could do vocals, I would have made the entire Rumours album by now. Thanks for giving us a chance to play it, I was surprised HMX never did.

After doing a little research on the song I found this on Wiki
“”The Chain” was created from combinations of several previously rejected materials, including solo work by Buckingham, Nicks and Christine McVie. It was assembled – sometimes manually by splicing tapes with a razor blade…”
October 6, 2014 at 4:28 pm #430556The Chain is a beauty of a song. Looking forward to checking the drums out.
October 6, 2014 at 4:30 pm #430557Dat audio production. You can pinpoint every instrument in time and space. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
