Greetings, All.
Loving what I have found here so much that I decided to attempt my first custom, but have hit a solid brick wall and have no ideas where to go from there.
Using;
Reaper v4.22 (Norton identifies a virus in 3.78 and refuses to allow it to install)
C3 template
CAT (current)
Python v2.78
Magma C3 v 2.2.0
Here’s the issue. Attempting to author drums on Van Halen’s “When It’s Love”. I’ve completed the chart in Reaper, run CAT to add reductions, etc., and exported the MIDI. Magma, however, complains vociferously about double note-off and Chord Gem errors. Specifically…
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: d:/customs/vhwil.mid (PART DRUMS) Double note-off 24, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: d:/customs/vhwil.mid (PART DRUMS) Double note-off 26, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (PART DRUMS): Difficulty easy: Chord gems don’t end simultaneously at, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: d:/customs/vhwil.mid (PART DRUMS) Double note-off 61, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (PART DRUMS): Difficulty medium: Chord gems don’t end simultaneously at, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: d:/customs/vhwil.mid (PART DRUMS) Double note-off 73, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (PART DRUMS): Difficulty hard: Chord gems don’t end simultaneously at, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: d:/customs/vhwil.mid (PART DRUMS) Double note-off 84, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: d:/customs/vhwil.mid (PART DRUMS) Double note-off 85, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (PART DRUMS): Difficulty expert: Chord gems don’t end simultaneously at, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: d:/customs/vhwil.mid (PART DRUMS) Double note-off 96, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: d:/customs/vhwil.mid (PART DRUMS) Double note-off 97, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: d:/customs/vhwil.mid (PART DRUMS) Double note-off 24, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: d:/customs/vhwil.mid (PART DRUMS) Double note-off 26, [3]
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (PART DRUMS): Difficulty expert: Chord gems don’t end simultaneously at, [3]
…
This goes on for a considerable time and then Magma stalls for a while, then finishes with an error creating RBA file.
MIDI Tester doesn’t complain but does send MagmaCompiler into a loop.
MIDI Cleaner finds no issues either.
I’m lost. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” /> Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
August 6, 2014 at 5:57 pm #426434You need to quantize your notes.
August 6, 2014 at 5:59 pm #426435I did quantize. Perhaps I did it wrong.
August 6, 2014 at 6:02 pm #426436I did quantize. Perhaps I did it wrong.Make also sure your notes have weight (i.e. they are not 0 in lengh).
August 6, 2014 at 6:04 pm #426438I entered them manually using snap to 1/32 grid w/notes=grid. They all show as 32nd notes on the chart.
August 6, 2014 at 6:27 pm #426439Added link to WIP Archive.
DELETED.
August 6, 2014 at 6:54 pm #426440You accidentally lowered velocity (you can see the track tinted in rose). Click on the red line at the bottom of the PART DRUMS track and drag it to the top.
August 6, 2014 at 7:15 pm #426441Thank you, Farottone. Adjusting the velocity allowed Magma to compile with only a few additional fixes required. Now on to play testing and revision prior to release. Any constructive criticism is most welcome.
I still need to learn OD, fills, and rolls, but that will come with time now that I can compile.
Thanks again.
