You missed the live stream, but here’s the video after the fact. It’s essentially what was in the stream, minus 10 minutes or so (of nothing important) and a little editing here and there for privacy reasons.

So I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while, so here we go.

Tomorrow, Saturday July 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM EST I will be doing a live stream showing as much of C3 CON Tools in action as I can, answering questions in the process.

I know it’s short notice, but I can’t really plan weeks in advance. I was going to do a video and post that, then I thought a live stream where I can answer questions as I go would be a bit better, and those of you who can’t make it, can watch the video afterwards.

I plan to show every feature in C3 CON Tools, in varying degrees of detail. The only features I don’t plan to cover are the converters to Phase Shift, PS3 or Wii unless someone specifically asks a question about them.

You can ask anything you want, but I will NOT be covering Magma tomorrow. That’s another video, if and when I get mentally back into that program.

      So, what can you expect?

      – very useful information on how to get the most out of C3 CON Tools

      – some things you may not know that C3 CON Tools does

      – some boring things nobody gives a crap about, but I’m going to show you still

      – answers to questions you otherwise wouldn’t get to hear

      – Tony Montana ScarFace level of Miami accent but none of the cocaine, hookers or money

      What shouldn’t you expect?

      – coverage of how to do anything with Magma

      – any discussion of the restricted areas/features of C3 CON Tools

      – any spoilers or leaks (I will only be using songs from the last two weeks of releases and a few random songs from the repository)

Good idea? Bad idea? Should I do it or should I save my time and go to the beach? (I am in Miami after all :c00l: )

I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing?

DISCLAIMER: I promised espher I wouldn’t go crazy on people. I’m not volunteering to do a video to be mean. I think a video like this is overdue. Then when another thread asking questions about any part of the Tools shows up, that person can be referred to the video and I don’t have to answer like a dick :excited:

Sounds great! I’ll be traveling, so I won’t be watching live, but I’ll check it out ex post facto. I’m sure you’ll be going over editing metadata, right? I’d love to be able to do it consistently. For whatever reason I occasionally have trouble, especially with dlc files (I know they need to be converted back to cons, but damned if I haven’t tried to edit the band name HIM/H.I.M. like 5 times without luck).

Good idea to do a stream of C3 Con Tools. Even though I’m pretty confident in using most of the features, there is always something new to learn. Would be great to see a stream of Magma in the future as well.

I might send a random few questions, in the name of humor of course? When do you finish? Seeing as you start an hour before I go to work, I want to know how much of a head start I’ll have.

C16 you know you’re not allowed to ask questions :haw: I was hoping you would answer some questions yourself, considering you probably have used the Tools more than I have

                    Good stream, bud.

                    Thanks for doing it.

The setlist manager stuff was particularly relevant for me since I’m running an event here locally in a couple of weeks.

I hate to say it but no video was saved :aaa:

I wanted to see it to learn about a few features I may be overlooking….and also to see if your voice matched the one in my head every time I read your posts

Hopefully it’s going to be there b/c I’m still looking forward to watching it.

Video is saved on my Twitch channel, I just have it hidden for the moment. I’m still thinking whether I want to have that available for posterity. Might need to do some editing first.

Link to video is now in OP.

Thanks for posting the video. Where most of it is very intuitive and is no instructions required I did pick up a few things. One being the lyrics export. That is a awesome the more you know kind of moment. The second is that the batch renamer works different than I assumed it did. Never tried it out because I just thought it worked like a standard batch file renamer lol. My bad there. Never clicked Event Manager as I figured it was for playing in large groups (which I never have), so it was neat seeing that in use.

After seeing the lyrics export I have to ask if a pro guitar/bass tab export is possible? I realize they are probably two completely different beast, but asking could not hurt. The worst is you say no…. or fuck no. I asked on the scorehero forums (http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/vie … hp?t=36363) but never got past downloading all of the Rocksmith programs.

Is it technically possible? Yes. Do I have the knowledge and understanding of pro guitar/bass to do it myself? Nope. You’d need someone with vast experience with pro g/b and MIDI…like ziggy, to give you an idea.

Watched video to find quickest way to convert LIVE file to CON and was not disappointed. Thanks for posting/recording this. Going to watch the rest just to learn about more features.

At some point it would probably help to put markers or something to make it easier to find things in this rather long video. But I just don’t have the time for now.
