I don’t know a better way to put it. When I copy notes from one tube to another, most of them appear at the top of the track editor and stay there whether I scroll or up or down. Now, I’ve had this happen to me before and I fixed it, but I can’t for the life of me remember how I did it. And my brain is not currently working properly.

They’re probably outside the MIDI range from that track. What are you copying and where?

I’m trying to copy the notes from a midi file bass track into a RB template bass track.

Yes, you need to move the notes in the MIDI range. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”> MIDI notes 96 to 100 are Expert notes. Fix them before copying them so you don’t touch the default MIDI track.

Ah I got it to work noodling around on my own. I did it by moving all the notes at once and ensuring my lowest note on the incoming chart was on line 40, which seems to be the low limit on the RB midi range. I imagine you could do it by ensuring your highest note was on the highest line in the RB midi range. However, it looks to me like converting the midi is going to be way too much of a hassle (especially for a bass track) given that the incoming track has about a 2 octave midi range. Oh well, not all experiments succeed.

Yeah, a direct and easy copy usually does not go well. That’s not to say you cannot use it to your advantage still. I would copy the midi_bass file into your current REAPER project, and then open both up together (highlight both and then ctrl+alt+e). You can then have the direct reference of note changes and such at hand for much easier charting.
