Audio Quality?

Simple question: What are the best settings for good audio output? I am trying to finish up a pack of customs, but the audio is never really satisfactory. The wav file rendered by Reaper sounds great, yet, on the x-box, the rbcon sounds muddy, too much bass, some clipped sections.
I’ve tried messing with the encoding quality in Magma, and it seems to get worse. Currently I have the wav file outputted at 24 bit pcm, put in backing, with silent stereo 44_24 in guitar and drums.
What do authors use when building a custom without stems?

June 11, 2014 at 12:56 pm #422252OK, that works. Now what? Seems like this solution will mess up those playing drums. I am converting a Nightwish album, and two tracks don’t have drums. Any way to fix those up?
Is the idea to avoid the backing track, and use an idle track?

Now you know that it’s the Magma audio bug, which is good to know. Try changing the mute track to a mono track, first of all.
June 11, 2014 at 7:44 pm #422276Changing the guitar track to a silent mono had weird effects – the audio drops when I stop a note. Same thing happens if I put the audio on the bass track, but everything (on guitar) works if the audio is on the drum track.
I read elsewhere about putting in fake vocals and using the vocal track for the audio file. How do I do that? I added in a single note vocal file with a lyric, but get a magma error: Vocal notes exist, but no vocal phrases found
MIDI Compiler: Done.

Close – you just need to add a vocal phrase marker (note 105) above the note. It has to have at least the same start and duration as the single note you added.
June 12, 2014 at 12:04 am #422294i recently discovered a workaround for the 2 track glitch. If you add a silent track in the “crowd” audio slot & everything else where it should be you get good audio. Have tried it on several pre GH3 tracks & it works great. i originally used the one lyric vocal trick which does work, but after trying the “crowd’ option, I believe this is the way to go.
