Is there one?
Somewhere around 61 minutes or so last I heard.
Shit. I need about 63 for what I was thinking.
Your call if you want to guess what it would be.
I wouldn’t know. Only songs i listen to that may get to that length are classical concerts and operas.
But try your luck. It may be more. I don’t remember what limit i placed on magma. I want to say 75 minutes but that was almost a year ago now. Nothing more than a few hours lost if it doesn’t work.
Your bigger concern is the hard 1MB midi size limit, which is a real concern if you’re thinking of a fb song that long.
I just went and quickly tested this for you.
I put together two Karn Evil 9 [Full]’s, which totaled out to 71 minutes, and it compiled and exported fine (just took a good 10 minutes). So the length cap is likely 75 minutes.
As he said, however, you’ll be running into a problem with the .midi size issue. I check a previous ~5 minute song I have fully* done, and it’s about 100kb. So you probably won’t be able to do the full file. So pretty much you’re options would be:
1) Split the file up into [Part 1], [Part 2]
2) Restrict yourself to not all instruments. Maybe just try and do Drums/Guitar/Vocals? Maybe you’ll only get one or two. This I don’t know for sure how much they take up.
3) Remove some of the “fluff” from the files. Don’t use any animations (or limited); use a basic event/venue track; ect.
single track you could in theory do 400 minuttes+ aka 6 hours and some minuttes. Stack green carnation or some other song to test and keep going.
Long songs that get split in parts totally misses the idea of epic songs, an good example is the count of tuscany..song totally dies if its splitted up.
I wanted to do the entirety of Sleep’s “Dopesmoker”, an hour and three minutes (give or take) of stoner/doom metal. Not sure how big the MIDI might get. It can, in theory, be split into six parts, but there’s nothing super different between any of them.

to give you an idea i just did crimson which is 40 min long, single track with bell and whistles and finished BEAT,EVENTS and auto generated VENUE track was 98kb mid file.
