Good day wonderful C3 community. I have a couple of questions and I did a search but nothing came up. My copy of rock band 3 has the dreaded ring of death on it because my daughter tugged the microphone while the disc was spinning and the rest is history. Now, its been scratched for a while now and while it wont play the songs that are on the disc, it usually hasnt been a problem to play customs or DLC until this weekend. Now I get the “unreadable disc” error. I dont play rock band online so the day before I tried playing it with my buddies, I just put all the customs and dlc I have straight on my hard drive. This includes the DLC that I bought and paid for. I backed up all my DLC music on my computer in CON files. My question is, did I do something wrong or is it that my disc has gotten progressivly more damaged over time? I cant install my disc to the HD because its to scratched, so can I use my buddies version to install and then use my scratched disc to boot it up and play? Thanks for any help!

I was afraid of that. It happens when I start a song. I have a lot of DLC. Its gonna take all weekend. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> Thanks

It’s not, you can do it via the Web site while you do something else. It’s boring, long but not THAT, luckily. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

May 8, 2014 at 7:11 pm #419780I would convert 1 piece of official DLC to CON 1st just to be sure the license is the issue. I have read other places where the scratched disc will cause everything, on disc and DLC songs to stop working.
May 9, 2014 at 4:47 am #419821What Bryan said. It isn’t that it wont cause songs themselves to load, but the part of the disc that got ruined may have been in the Venue areas of the disc, which means it will fail on every song regardless because venue’s fail to load. I’d say try practice mode with a song as well.
May 15, 2014 at 11:27 pm #420383I installed it on the HD and its working like a champ. Thanks for all the info!
