I’m doing Fever for the Flava and the drum track sucks because there is not a lot of notes, but I’m not sure how many notes I’m actually not putting in that I dont realise. Is there any way I can only hear the drums in the song. I can’t find any multitrack for the song. I only have the MP3 for it.

Short answer: no, not without multitracks.

Long answer: While you can’t get a perfectly clean instrument rip without multitracks most of the time (unless you’re a tech genious like OrangeHarrison and you’re working with a pre-1970’s song), Reaper has EQ settings tools you can mess with to try and bring the drums up. The VST plugin you’re looking for is ReaEQ, though ReaGate and ReaFir can also help. It also helps to know what you’re doing with these tools, so you may want to ask around and see if anyone else has fooled with them. I use them on occasion, but I am a horrible teacher, so IDK if I could teach you the basics.

Unrelated – I had that song penciled in my short list of songs to author, so I look forward to see what you’ve got when it’s done. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

It doesn’t honestly sound like it’s a very bad mix, that the drums are that hard to hear or that there are few drums notes. And this from a YouTube video, I would imagine an MP3 is far better.
