      WHAT IS IT?

This is a very lightweight tool I created after getting inspired by today’s events…

Are you such an excellent plastic guitar player that nothing short of 20 notes per second is minimum for you before you’d consider playing a song?

MIDI Analyzer tells you how many Notes Per Second (NPS) or Notes Per Minute (NPM) you can expect from any instrument in any difficulty.

Ever wondered how many notes go into making a full band custom? Or how many notes each difficulty of each instrument has? Or maybe how many phrase markers or overdrive or animation notes a song has?

All of that and much more geeky, technical, boring stuff can be yours for the price of downloading MIDI Analyzer and throwing a MIDI or CON file at it.

I had to LOL at this, but it has its uses. How about adding a percentage of playable time. So if there are 100 measures and only 20 playable you get a 20% playtime density (or some other geeky name like that. Maybe next to the answer for Has Drums? It could be True (75%) or something like that.

Don’t go all Soup Nazi on me now. I like it.

I’ll see if I can think of a way to do that.

I think I’m done adding features :what:

I think the math is right, and it looks right, but I haven’t counted anything manually to confirm. If anyone wants to do that and report any inaccuracies in the math, I’ll be thankful. But otherwise, this is it.

            Enjoy.

This is nuts. If I ever use it, it will be so that I can make a spreadsheet that includes songs where the bpm is too hard for me to drum (enjoyably).

I know you said you’re done, and that’s fine, but would it hypothetically be feasible to have it check for “disco beat” songs? I tend to have less fun with those.

Easily. I’ll add it when I revisit some of the math. At least one thing was brought up to my attention by the ever helpful AddyMilldike, so an update will come at some point this weekend.

I have no intentions of working on this any further. It has now been integrated into C3 CON Tools. It’s the same exact code as this version, so you can use either one. If you update your copy of C3 CON Tools you can safely remove this version.

Since no more support or features will be added to this, the thread is closed.

Any comments or questions, post them on the C3 CON Tools thread.
