So I charted a song and played it. Then I went to practice but the game crashed. There were no practice sections in my track. What do you do in Reaper to put them in?
February 3, 2014 at 6:52 am #413356The C3 custom template already has the markers for practice sections located in the Events track.
February 3, 2014 at 11:54 am #413362even if the practice sections were deleted, the game automatically puts 0-5% 5-10% 10-15%.. etc etc
February 4, 2014 at 1:15 am #413401So, I tried making practice sections by putting the section names as text events. How are they signified in REAPER?

February 5, 2014 at 6:46 pm #413545even if the practice sections were deleted, the game automatically puts 0-5% 5-10% 10-15%.. etc etcAs is evidenced by this thread, that doesn’t prevent the game from expecting manually defined ones. The same thing happens if you enter the guitar/bass trainer when that instrument has no training sections defined.
April 15, 2015 at 2:59 pm #442862This thread is somewhat dated but I’m gonna take it over.
I am having random issues of my console freezing on a black screen after going into practice mode on guitar. I choose sections to play and after selecting full speed it crashes as described. Now the part that gets me is it is happening like every other time. I have all prc markers in place and have not messed with anything at all between attempts. I don’t always need to use the practice option when I play-test so I don’t know if this would happen with all my customs. I want to say there were some that were fine but I can’t recall which ones. This is currently the second of my customs that I know of that it happens with. Can’t say if it’s the custom itself of something else. I really don’t like doing a hard reboot on my system every time this happens. Anyone else familiar with this issue or what might be causing it?
April 7, 2017 at 4:22 pm #483706So looking over the rbn docs specifically here:
http://pksage.com/rbndocs/index.php/Mix_and_MIDI_Setup#EVENTS_Track
In the EVENTS track it says:
The EVENTS track can also be used for special timekeeping notes during Practice Mode. The following MIDI notes in EVENTS will play sounds in Practice Mode alongside the isolated stem when slowed below 100% speed:
- D0 (26): Hi-hat sample
- C#0 (25): Snare sample
- C0 (24): Kick drum sample
However, in my version of Reaper 4.22, in the EVENTS track D0 is not (26), C#0 is not (25), and C0 is not (24). In my version of Reaper 4.22 its: D0 is (14), C#0 is (13), and C0 is (12)
i’ve tried to put the drum beats in D0, C#0, and C0 respectively and when i compile it and test it out on RB3 in the practice mode, I don’t hear any drums when i reduce the speed below 100%
anybody has any similar issues?
April 7, 2017 at 7:38 pm #483715Why not try C1, C#1, and D1?
April 8, 2017 at 1:52 am #483736I’ve tried that too but it didn’t work
