That’s a bit of a weird title for a request, isn’t it?
This isn’t really a request as much as it’s a statement that I have something so that someone who wants it can request an upload. A reverse request if you will.
I have in my possession the disc for Karaoke Revolution Presents American Idol for the PS2. Three years ago, I ripped the ISO and discovered that inside is a standard Guitar Hero 2 style unencrypted ARK file full of Midis and Moggs. The Midi files are very similar to Rock Band format. At the time, I determined that one would need to do phrasing on the midis and rename the vocal track in order to get them working via RawkSD (This was the stone age, after all).
Does anyone want to play with this? Would you like the ARK file or a zip of the extracted songs or what?
And here’s the songlist from Wikipedia, which helpfully doesn’t tell us which songs are cover versions (most of them).

I think these are the ones that are currently NOT DLC on Rock Band. Have any of these been made into customs? I personally would like You and Me, Always Something There to Remind Me, Easy, She Bangs, Unwritten and those are just off the top of my head.

I got the files all extracted and cut down to non-RB3 songs only. The audio is in VGS format like Guitar Hero 2, so I recommend throwing it out and syncing the vocal track from the midi to an Mp3 of the song, but to each his own. Some songs have duet sections that can be adapted into harmonies as you like. They’re uploading to this folder:
Whoops, look at that, I found the disc for Karaoke Revolution: Party in my old stuff. Let me know if you guys want the song data for those songs too.
I know it’s not the same thing, but we do have a cover of “Easy” courtesy of Faith No More (my preferred version).
Currently uploading the non-RB3ed songs from Karaoke Revolution: Party. Interestingly, these songs were charted by Harmonix. The cover version of I Love Rock And Roll in this game (which is removed from the upload for obvious reasons) is the same cover used in Guitar Hero 1.
