These are all by artists that show up under “Aâ€, because iTunes doesn’t have a way to properly sort by artist. So please don’t get up in my grill about it. None of these bands are represented in Rock Band, at least not that I’ve been able to find.
And yes, I do intend to run through the rest of the letters.
Actionslacks – Shining Jewels
Sample: http://www.last.fm/music/Actionslacks/_/Shining+Jewels
Neat vibe track from an underrated band. I’d call it Alternative.
Al Stewart – Year of the Cat
Video:
Minor classic from 1976. Another vibe track, keys would be the highlight, I think, but vocals would be good, too.
The Alan Parsons Project – I wouldn’t Want to Be Like You
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6xs_q6EOHw
Parsons has a huge catalog, but this would be a great RB track, with a fun drum part, and a nice Ian Bairnson guitar solo. I know others have requested it.
Alejandro Escovedo – About This Love
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cW0U0fYe1k
Underrated artist. Usually classed as country. This song features slide guitar and lyrics that resonate with some people. Another vibe track (yes, I like them). I can see singing this one over and over.
Anemo – Same Day Chore
Track: http://www.gettyimages.com/music/download-songs/112831-same-day-chore
Alt-pop with a cool beat, strong female vocalist with some neat harmonies.
(Rod) Argent – Hold Your Head Up
Video:
Another minor radio classic, this one from 1972. This would be fun for vocalists. Could be Stuart Smalley’s theme song.
Atlanta Rhythm Section – So Into You
Video:
Yet another minor classic from the ‘70’s – 1977 this time. Cool song with a little something for everyone. They have another song, “Imaginary Lover†which wouldn’t be quite as good for Rock Band, I think.
Autograph – Friday
Video:
Most people know “Turn Up The Radioâ€, but this song would be a better party track. Driving rhythm section, fun harmonies, keys that I couldn’t handle on easy, and a fairly blistering guitar solo. I would run over a squirrel for this song.

I would love to do Alien so badly but there’s no reference for it.

I’m not familiar. Guess I’ll have to check it out….
… and it’s very nice. Right up my alley. What does “there’s no reference for it” mean? Obviously I don’t chart.

December 12, 2013 at 7:19 pm #410582I like this idea. It at least narrows down the scope of songs to pick from a lot. I would like some more Audioslave. 1 on RockBand and 2 customs just isn’t enough! If I had to pick just one song that isn’t already there, I would say Doesn’t Remind Me would be fun.

For a number of reasons I tend to work off MIDI, sheet music, etc.

Roger that. It must be a lot of work/interpretation to chart when you only have a two-track recording as a basis.
