If more than one dry vocals track is used for separate lip sync purposes, which band member is bound with which part (at the same time charting lip sync markers to band members in EVENTS)?
Does more than one band member use the same lip sync data, and do certain band members on certain instruments have higher priority on a specific dryvox part than others?

Harmony 1 is assigned to the Main Singer.
Harmony 2 is assigned to the Guitarist.
Harmony 3 is assigned to the Bass player.

Most likely yes. It’s sometimes a bit hard to wrap one’s head around, but that is the basics of it. To make sure I usually put singalong notes for both Bass and Guitar when I want Keys to sing along and try my best to hide the other part’s face for the duration of that.
October 18, 2013 at 4:26 am #408099Here is the problem with this.
If you add the lipsync files in Magma, but don’t draw the notes in the venue, neither bass nor guitar player have animated lips. Likewise, the drummer uses the lipsync file from the lead singer (harm1), but unless you draw the notes in the venue, his lips aren’t animated. Therefore, why would it make sense to assume the keys player would take up either guitar or bass’ place as far as lip sync goes, if no notes are drawn for the keys player?
What I can confirm, with certainty, is that if a song has guitar, bass and keys, the only way you’ll see the keys player is if you play guitar/keys or bass/keys. if you play guitar/bass, the keys are not on screen (i know, seems like a duh moment, but if you don’t play either guitar or bass, just keys, one of the two WILL still be on screen), and if you’re playing in all instruments mode, and the song has all the charts, the keys player is never visible, and whatever character you assign to whoever is on keys while selecting the song will be seen singing the song.
For an example of the above, see tomorrow’s release video when it goes live. There are two songs with AIM because they had all instruments. The character you see singing is the character I assigned to the keys.
Confusing as all get out, no?
October 18, 2013 at 4:31 am #408101Not really, seems pretty clear as day to me already the more I test it out. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
But yeah, I can see how it can be confusing.
This is especially clear since they run the same priorities as camera cuts do depending on band setup.
