I think we have an obligation to do another heartbreak duets pack for Valentine’s Day 2014, especially since 2/14/14 falls on a Friday!

But may I submit we do separate threads for separate themes?
January 2, 2014 at 5:12 am #411497Bumping this because it’s gotten a lot of discussion on Skype lately.
I love duets because they’re great for parties, but any love-themed songs will fit the Harmonix tradition of 2011, 2012, and 2013. I heard Savage Garden – Truly Madly Deeply on the radio today and thought it would be a perfect fit, but I might not have the time or inclination to do it myself. As always, popular/fun-in-RB songs are preferred over your personal favorites, but we’ll take whatever you’ve got.
January 2, 2014 at 11:38 am #411504Ok, let’s shoot for “duets only” and see where we land. Here are my picks:
Terence Trent D’Arby – Delicate
Sade – Never as Good as the First Time
January 2, 2014 at 2:23 pm #411505What about a small pack for the people out there without a significant other (or in relationship trouble)? I’ve charted Love on the Rocks and it would be a good fit for someone who wants to vent their sadness on VD. I’m not presently in that situation and not been for many years, but I do remember what it was like to be alone and bummed out on VD. Songs like Love on the Rocks (and plenty of bourbon) made it a little better.

However, since a few more authors joined in the last weeks I’m gonna post our usual warning about focusing a lot of resources on one pack: we need to fill 4 weeks per month. It’s great if everybody pitch in for a pack, just remember that if we focus all our resources on one pack, there are still 3 other weeks to fill. So if you want to contribute to a pack make sure you’re not filling up your monthly or bimonthly quota with what you’re doing for that pack, even more so if said pack is or will be fairly populated. The more the merrier but not at the expense of the overall project. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
January 2, 2014 at 2:39 pm #411507Let’s shoot for the general umbrella of “love-, relationship-, or breakup-themed songs”. And, as farottone said, one song per person is usually a good target, unless you have several you really want to do. Small support for several weeks is better than lots of support for one week.
January 2, 2014 at 6:03 pm #411514Okay, it’s time.
Berlin – Sex.
January 2, 2014 at 7:04 pm #411520I am adding a anti-valentines song for the week before (Hand of Blood by Bullet for My Valentine) to even it out a bit, if any of you have any songs that would fit more as anti-valentine than valentine feel free to add it to the 7th as well ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
January 2, 2014 at 7:53 pm #411525Mmm, if anyone else is interested in doing anti-Valentines songs, shall we do a “Team Love vs Team Despair” fake competition? We could tease the thing in advance and ask the community to vote their favourite week of the two, to keep the engaged.
I repeat, fake competition, it’s all in good fun, if we do it. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

I like this idea ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
January 2, 2014 at 9:43 pm #411535I will be doing “Broken” by Seether (the version with Amy Lee). This is from my setlist, but I could find a suitable replacement easily for that setlist.
EDIT: If we do the “Anti-Valentines” pack, I will provide “Fuck You” by Cee Lo Green. also from my setlist, but I can find a replacement for that as well.
January 2, 2014 at 10:15 pm #411536I will do
. I think it fits best in the Feburary 14th pack. I think it qualifies for the pack if you listen to the lyrics.
January 3, 2014 at 2:06 am #411547As per Skype, I will be doing Alejandro by Lady Gaga. Hope that doesn’t throw a wrench in your guys’s good vs bad love setup.

why not just do both pack types on the same week instead of dedicating two whole weeks to it? Split the pack into two parts evenly on the same day.
