Introducing myself… When I first heard RB3 was stopping their DLC I became interested in customs. There are just too many songs that I want to play. My intention was to just chart 5-lane Guitar and Bass since those are what I primarily play. My musical tastes are primarily mainstream Hard Rock, Rock, Pop, Classic Rock, and Oldies.
My weakest skill is Drums and so if you can contribute drums on any of my listed songs (X only is ok) it would be hugely appreciated. Perhaps I can do Guitar or Bass on one of your songs in exchange.
C3 Releases:
June 28: Aerosmith – Seasons of Wither (Farottone added drums. columbo777 with Pro Guitar/Bass Thanks!)
July 12: REO Speedwagon – Time for Me To Fly (Farottone added drums. Thanks!)
August 16: Shinedown – If You Only Knew – 4-pack, collaboration with DVDSmith
August 16: Shinedown – Amaryllis – 4-pack, collaboration with DVDSmith
August 16: Shinedown – Enemies (2x) – 4-pack, collaboration with DVDSmith
August 16: Shinedown – Cry for Help – 4-pack, collaboration with DVDSmith
August 23: Paul Simon – Father and Daughter
Next Up:
Default 3-pack: Sick and Tired, Deny, and Wasting My Time. These songs are ready for scheduling. mrmet2087 is contributing the first pass expert drum charts.
Queen – I Was Born To Love You – Contributed Tempo Map, Guitar, and Bass to the EBA collaboration pack. My instruments are completed.
Hoobastank – Without a Fight – Contributed Tempo Map, Guitar, and Bass to the EBA collaboration pack. My instruments are completed.
ABWH – Let’s Pretend – Completed except for reductions. Awaiting play-testing.
60’s/70’s “Psychedelic Pop” Pack:
Paul Revere and the Raiders – Kicks – Complete except venue and reductions – not in play-testing yet
Badfinger – Baby Blue – In progress. G/B charted. Vocals half done
The Troggs – Wild Thing – In Progress. G charted.
3 Dog Night – Mama Told Me Not To Come – Vocals half done
Perhaps others similar to these
Other songs partially charted (Looking for contributors – especially on Drums)
UFO – Only You Can Rock Me (G)
UFO – Gettin’ Ready (G)
UFO – The Wild, the Willing, and the Innocent (G)
Edison Lighthouse – Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes) (G)
Collective Soul – Precious Declaration (G – but needs more work)
Red Skelton & Lucille Ball – Friendship (“guitar” has been charted)
Songs on my radar (Collaborations welcome – need drums contributors)
UFO – many songs from these guys – they are second only to Rush IMO.
Collective Soul – as many as possible
3 Doors Down – Away From the Sun, The Road I’m On, Loser
Default – Count On Me, All Over Me, Faded
REO Speedwagon – Golden Country, Let Me Ride, and others
April Wine – Just Between You and Me, Sign of the Gypsy Queen, Tell My Why, Tonight
Yes – The Gates of Delirium (wishful thinking, but I might make a shorter edit of it)
Neil Young – Old Man, Cowgirl In the Sand
Benny Goodman – In the Mood
Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass – Zorba the Greek
Schoolhouse Rock – Interjections!
June 5, 2013 at 5:10 pm #400588Welcome! If you need help with the Shinedown stuff let me know, Rock Band needs more Shinedown (and definitely more Amaryllis!) ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
June 6, 2013 at 9:10 pm #400698DVDSmith, Thanks for offering to help with Shinedown. I have 3 other songs I’ve committed to do first but I could certainly choose to do a Shinedown song next after those three are completed. The 3 other songs are mostly completed so it won’t be a long time away (I could start sometime in July.) What Shinedown song are you thinking of and which parts can you contribute? I’m thinking Amaryllis (the song) and I can do GBV and Venue. I’m open to a different Shinedown song if it means you can contribute more (or be happier doing so.) Enemies and For My Sake would be great songs to do also.
June 6, 2013 at 9:38 pm #400701I’m happiest charting drums, so I can help with that. I can playtest the rest but without MIDIs/sheet music to work with I’m not very good at charting the rest. My number one choice from Amaryllis would be Enemies, but the album is so great that I’m happy to do any ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
June 16, 2013 at 10:52 pm #401518I thought I’d post a link to a song that I’d really like to turn into a full band in hopes that I can get someone excited for it and convince someone to chart the drums. It is only Guitar for now but if I can get a commitment from someone to do drums then I’ll work on everything else. It is really fun on guitar with a great solo.
The link will be good for a week or so. Feel free to enjoy it but please keep it amongst the C3 authors for now.
June 25, 2013 at 8:12 am #402126Updated the OP with next songs.
August 13, 2013 at 5:58 pm #404502Just wanted to say I love Default and can’t wait for those ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> Collective Soul and REO are great too, great selections you have planned ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
August 13, 2013 at 8:27 pm #404508Thanks! Those songs would move close to the top of my list if I could get a drummer to do the expert Drum charts for me. Sadly, I am lacking in the drum department.
August 13, 2013 at 9:16 pm #404511I will totally do it! I’ve never authored anything “official” before, just all those video game related songs in the “Other Customs” forum, but I have plenty of experience authoring, I’ve never done reductions before though. Not sure how collaborations work but if you get it all tempo mapped out and you send me the Reaper Project, or the MID with the tempo map, I could author and send you the MID for drums when it’s done and you can add overdrives and stuff to it if you’d like? Just shoot me a PM when you have everything else done except for drums, or if you are working on the rest, I’ll do drums while you do the rest ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Also on that note, for your collective soul ideas, not sure if the song “Heavy” is something you’d want to do, but I would absolutely help with that one too, love that song!
August 23, 2013 at 11:00 am #405016mrmet. thanks for the offer. I’d like to take you up on that. Reductions are not a problem. I can do that. I just need Xpert drums charted. What I’d like to do is set up a single song, then I’ll tempo map it, and send it your way. Then you do the drums on it first. Assuming that goes well, we can continue from there.
“Heavy” seems like it might be tricky to chart on Guitar. How about we start with Default – Wasting My Time? Sound ok?
August 23, 2013 at 3:40 pm #405026Ok sounds good. Just PM me everything ill need and ill get it to shortly there after. Yeah “Heavy” would be tricky by it has a lot of the repeating riff so it wouldn’t be had to chart, lots of copy and pasting until you get to the solo. But yeah for sure just keep in contact about Wasting My Time. My drum charts I wouldn’t say are perfect, and may need changes after play testing, but I can for sure give you at least a good place to start from with what I think would be minor changes. Ill leave adding overdrives and drum fills to you to mesh well with the other instruments overdrives, but ill get you the expert chart for sure.
September 13, 2013 at 9:49 pm #406163I’ve updated my OP’s “Next Up” section and have 3 Default songs ready to drop.
I have generally decided to take a lazy approach to making customs. I was originally aiming to author 1 full song a week, but that created too much time pressure and stress and so I am just going to do them when I do them.
Also, there are some songs that I want to play on guitar but know I’d never be able to make a full custom of them (The Gates of Delirium) and so I plan on asking for collaborations first, and if no one want to collaborate then I’ll probably make my partial songs available outside of the official C3 release channel.
September 26, 2013 at 8:02 am #406797The Default “Fallout 3-Pack” is ready for scheduling. “Deny” doesn’t yet have a custom venue but I’ll add it after scheduling. In general I’m sure you could find little ways to improve the songs, especially on drums but I’d say they are releasable. Thanks.
