Hi, guys, it’s me again:
Seeing how TU4 doesn’t include the “Hide crappy 1-lighter songs” option, I decided to fiddle with Queen Pack 01 and remove the legacy duplicates (I Want to Break Free, One Vision, etc, etc).
I was able to do so with Le Fluffie for RB3.
I kept everything from the extracted pack, removed the the legacy songs folders, and created a new pack.
Sweet, right? Ehh. Upon loading the game, I saw that the game still showed the title of the removed songs, along with the “white” album preview and no audio preview.
I’m assuming this has something to do with the .dta file. Am I correct? If so, how can I edit it so that it removes the non-existent songs from the preview?
Also, is it possible to edit the song/artist names & miscellaneous from the official DLC? If so, how? It sort of “bugs” me when I see (RB3 Version) next to the song titles.
Edit: I edited the pack’s .dta file using notepad++ and removed the info for the legacy songs. And it worked! The nonexistent songs are gone from the library.
I’ll play around with the Bon Jovi songs later to remove (RB3 Version) from the title, and then the official exports. Not sure how this will affect “goals” if I edit the official packs that appear in the Goals section.
May 18, 2013 at 10:23 am #399770You need a cache rebuild and of course you need to remove DTA info for those songs.
May 18, 2013 at 5:26 pm #399784You need a cache rebuild and of course you need to remove DTA info for those songs. So… delete the cache from the USB drive and HDD and let the game make a new one?
Also, if I edit the song/band name on the .dta file, will the edit also show up when I “play” it?
And… what about editing difficulty tiers and album art? What tool would I need to edit those?
May 18, 2013 at 5:46 pm #399785whatever edits you make to songs.dta will reflect in game BUT ONLY if you delete the cache OR change the song ID. otherwise, the game loads the old songs.dta.
as far as changing difficulty levels, look at the songs.dta and see how it’s done. i might create a visual editor down the line (fairly sure I will) but for now you gotta change the numbers around. let me know if you’d like the text file with the values, as they change from instrument to instrument.
to change the album art, it’s in the con file under ->gen -> songname_keep.png_xbox. you can replace that with LeFluffie too. just right click and replace.
if you need to create the album art, use the album art converter in lefluffie. you can convert any JPG/BMP/PNG into the rock band png_xbox format with it, then replace it.
May 19, 2013 at 6:52 pm #399833That also irks me a bit to see duplicates. Is this also able to be used for the genres?
May 19, 2013 at 8:39 pm #399842That also irks me a bit to see duplicates. Is this also able to be used for the genres?Yup. I changed all the songs with “Other” as the genre, like Bee Gees & Bob Marley.

That’s something we can fix using the RB:HP method as well, for people interested in such fixes.

Apologies, I mistyped.
I plan on replacing all genres that are “Other”, but the only ones I know of for sure are the Bee Gees tracks and
Bob Marley Legend album. I will keep track and post the others I find.

There’s a ton in RBN, but here’s the full list from just official DLC:
Bee Gees 01 (6 songs)
Bob Marley – Legend (13 songs)
Various Artists – “Rock Band Network Megamix 01”
Neil Peart – “The Hockey Theme”
The Chemical Brothers – “Let Forever Be”
Otis Redding 01 (5 songs)
Spongebob 02 (3 songs)
Ray Parker Jr. – “Ghostbusters”
MC Frontalot – “Origin of Species”
Spongebob 01 (3 songs)
MC Frontalot feat. Brad Sucks – “Livin’ at the Corner of Dude & Catastrophe”
May 20, 2013 at 2:00 pm #399877somewhat related, Pikminguts found a genre in the Magma compiler files for “Urban” that is not selectable in Magma….I have all official DLC, the only ones that are labeled as Urban are the Snoop Dogg tracks.
the more you know.
naturally, Visualizer will also recognize songs categorized as Urban, just because why not
I also added all 98 subgenres but don’t know how to display it yet, so it’s in the code but not used.
May 21, 2013 at 3:50 pm #399925Yeah, “Urban” was “Hip-Hop/R&B” before the latter was a thing. Several RBN1 songs use “Urban”.
May 31, 2013 at 7:05 pm #400326My trick for the “Hide Song” option was to make sure every song had a rating. That entailed modifying a bunch of customs, and creating a dummy .dta file to modify RBN DLC. Then I changed any song I wanted to hide to “unrated” (a “4” in the .dta file), and filtered out the Unrated songs in the in-game library.
Took a while but it works like a charm now (even better than the official option in TU5, in my opinion, since I don’t have to worry about friends hiding a song because they accidentally pressed the blue button while browsing the library). ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

June 3, 2013 at 8:26 am #400446Apologies for taking so long with these.
These are the updates I’ve done to art and info.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/b01ulyt3gc7bghq/RBupdateswok19.rar
The Artwork Only folder is the original uncensored Nothing’s Shocking album cover
and the original Pearl Jam Ten album art extracted from Alive on the RB2 disc.
The Info Only folder is a bunch of stuff.
The album title updates are mostly movie soundtrack songs which I set to one specific format in the title.
(Example The Movie: Motion Picture Soundtrack)
The song info folder is either removing some version of (Blank Version) from a song title, or putting the Featured Artist of the song in the song title rather than artist. The only artist changes are putting the ! in Panic! at the Disco from the RB2 disc and changing the ! to an i in Pink from the Blitz Export.
The Artwork and Info folder is for putting in original album artwork and updating the artist, album, genre, or track info. Caddyshack and Footloose Soundtrack artwork was necessary for the Loggins tracks.
Biggies here are the updated album art and track info for the Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, & Bob Marley Legend Tracks.
The only thing, the dlc rerecords would not change the rerecord year from showing no matter what I tried.
Album info and art updated, but not that. Specifically, the REO Speedwagon, Social Distortion, & Styx tracks.
All the artwork was converted down from as high res a pic as I could find.
Hopefully these help with some quick album art and info updates to RB libraries when using the RBHP.

Is there any way edit ratings to the songs that are on the RB3 disc?
