Lately I’ve been getting a bunch of phone calls from First Financial Asset Management about an old debt they claim I owe. The problem is, I’m not even sure the debt is real, and the way they’ve been contacting me feels way over the line. They’ve called my job, left messages with family members, and keep sending letters that sound kind of threatening.
I’ve tried telling them to communicate in writing only, but they don’t seem to care. I started doing some research and found this page that talks about what to do if you’re dealing with debt collection harassment: https://protectionforconsumers.com/first-financial-asset-management-debt-collection-harassment/
. It helped me understand a bit more about my rights, but I’m still unsure what steps to take next.
Has anyone here had the same experience with First Financial Asset Management? How did you handle it? Did you send a cease and desist letter or get a lawyer involved?
