I’ve been asked to send an RFI to a few vendors as part of a new project, but I’m struggling to figure out how to structure it. I’ve heard the term thrown around a lot but never really understood what should be included. Is there a standard format, or is it more about specific needs for the project? Any advice on how to craft a good one?

RFIs can definitely be a bit tricky. From what I know, it’s about gathering info to compare different vendors, but as for the details and format, I’m not exactly sure what’s considered a “good” one. I imagine it varies depending on the situation.

That’s exactly where I was when I first got tasked with writing an RFI. I had no idea how to approach it, but then I stumbled upon this great article. It explains RFIs in simple terms, gives tips on how to structure your questions, and even has templates to follow. Once I read it, I felt way more confident about asking the right questions and organizing the RFI properly. It’s a great resource to get you on track. Definitely worth checking out before you write yours!
